There will be two term exams for Class 10 and Class 12 students in the 2021-22 academic session. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Monday informed this through a notification highlighting the special assessment scheme to be followed in this upcoming session. According to the new scheme, there will be two board exams with each of the exams covering approximately 50 per cent syllabus. The examinations will be called Term-I and Term-II exams. The first term exams will likely be conducted between November-December 2021, while the second term exams will be held in March-April 2022. According to the Board, the responses of students in these examination will be captured on OMR sheets, then after scanning may be directly uploaded at CBSE portal for evaluation. The alternative option is, the marks obtained by students will be uploaded by the school the very same day. Similarly, the Term II Examination or the Year-end Examination will be based on the rationalized syllabus of Term II only (i.e. approximately 50% of the entire syllabus). Marks of both Term-I & Term-II Examinations would contribute to the final overall score of a student. Efforts will be made to make Internal Assessment, Practical or Project work more credible and valid as per the guidelines of the board. Apart from this, the board will announce the Moderation to ensure fair distribution of marks. The syllabus for the Board examination 2021-22 will be rationalized similar to that of the last academic session to be notified in July 2021. For academic transactions, schools will follow the curriculum and syllabus released by the Board in March 2021. Schools will also use alternative academic calendar and inputs from the NCERT on transacting the curriculum.
