In a shocking incident, a youth was allegedly stabbed to death by some miscreants following an argument at Raghunath Nagar under Khandagiri Police limits in Bhubaneswar on Sunday (Aug 29).

The deceased Sanatan Routray owned a mobile shop at Dumduma market. Late night on Sunday, some youths had gotten into a verbal altercation with Routray over boozing. However after the fight, the accused called some of their acquaintances and they together launched an attack on Routray.

The group then reportedly stabbed Routray with a sharp object which led to his death. Receiving information, police initiated a probe and detained four persons, including two women allegedly involved in the incident. All of them are reported to be members of one family.

A few other accused involved in the case are absconding and efforts are on to nab them. Police also informed that the detainees were involved in illegal liquor trade. Meanwhile, the body of the deceased has been sent for post-mortem. While an investigation is still on, response of the police in this matter is awaited.
