A bakery located in Kharvela Nagar area of Bhubaneswar was raided on Tuesday for violating food safety norms. A team of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) officials led by an officer of the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) conducted the raid.

As per reports, the owner of the bakery unit was preparing food items in violation of the prescribed guidelines of the Food Safety & Standards Act. According to a BMC official, the owner of the bakery unit has been slapped with a fine of Rs 3,000.

Moreover, the bakery has been warned and asked to strictly abide by the necessary food safety standards.Meanwhile, the owner of the bakery unit said that there was some mistake by staff and it will be rectified immediately.

According to the owner, quality of the food items has not been compromised.
