World No-1 Para Shuttler Pramod Bhagat has officially qualified for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics. The top ranked player from Odisha received the call from the Badminton World Federation on Tuesday. The mega event is set to take place in Japan’s Tokyo from August 25 to September 5, 2021.

Congratulating the ace-shuttler after the Tokyo call, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik wished the badminton player success in the 2021 Paralympics. For Pramod, winning a gold in the Paralympics has always been his dream and he has been training very hard to achieve that.

Apart from Pramod Bhagat (Men’s Singles Standing Lower 3), two other players - Tarun Tarun and Krishna Nagar also received invitation to take part in the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games Badminton Competition. As per reports, this is the first time that badminton as a sport is being introduced in the Paralympics.
