In the midst of an intense cyclonic storm 'Yaas', at least 10 fishermen were out for fishing late last night (May 25). While they were returning to the shore, their boat capsized near Japa village in Ersama of Jagatsinghpur. However, all the 10 persons were safely rescued by NDRF and Odisha Police personnel. The Ersama Block Development Officer (BDO) also swung into action for rescuing the fishermen.
Following the incident, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik took to Twitter to praise the efforts of the rescue teams that saved the lives of 10 persons. CM Naveen appreciated the quick response from the team of National Disaster Relief Force (NDRF) and Ersama BDO for rescuing the 10 fishermen from capsized boat. The CM has also praised the bravery displayed during this courageous rescue operation at night.
