Just hours after the landfall of Cyclone Yaas in Odisha, the disaster management troops have launched restoration and rescue operations in areas ravaged by the natural calamity. The Odisha government had mobilized 60 ODRAF (Odisha Disaster Rapid Action Force) teams, 52 NDRF (National Disaster Response Force) and over 200 fire fighting teams for the rescue and restoration operations in several districts in north, north-coastal and adjoining districts.

Anticipating widespread damage, the disaster management teams remained prepared for all possible scenarios. After the cyclone receded, they immediately launched their operations to help all the affected people. Road clearance work is in full swing to remove fallen trees for early restoration of normalcy in the cyclone-hit districts.
