A student from Ganjam's Bhanjanagar received an unpleasant surprise on Wednesday (Sept 22). Despite clearing the Plus-exams conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) earlier, he later discovered that he has failed.

The student identified as Deepak Kumar Swain had earlier received his report card which mentioned and certified him to have passed the exam. However, when he reached his college to claim his Transfer Certificate (TC), he was told that he has failed.

As per reports, Deepak is a resident of Tulasipalli village near Bhanjangar and a Plus-2 student at Kabi Samrat Upendra Bhanja College. Like many other students, Deepak had not been able to take his plus 2 exams due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Later, his results were declared based on the alternative assessment method in which, his report card marked him pass with a score of 238.

However, when Deepak reached his college to take his TC, he discovered that he had failed in the exams, foiling his future plans to join a Technical institute at Berhampur for a diploma course. With no other alternative, Deepak contacted his college Principal.

However, the Principal then informed him that not only Deepak, but three other students had similar issues in their mark sheets.
