With the Term-1 Board exams for Classes 10 and 12 all set to kick off in November, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has reportedly come up with some new rules and guidelines for students appearing in the exams.
Shedding more light on the rules and plans, CBSE Controller of examinations Dr Sanyam Bhardwaj told a national media (TOI), that the students will be allowed to use only pens during the exams.
He also mentioned that an extra blank space/circle will be given in the OMR sheets as an option for students wanting to change their responses. If four options to answer a particular question are provided, there will be an additional blank space.
If the students, during revising or for any other reason, realise that they have marked the wrong choice, they can strike it off, darken the correct circle and write the same in the additional space provided, Bhardwaj said.
Furthermore, the CBSE controller informed that respective schools of the candidates would be conducting the practical exams for Term 1 paper.
However, keeping in view the present Covid situation and with the vaccination drive gathering pace, CBSE is expecting to conduct the practical exams for students for Term 2 paper.
Meanwhile, speaking about the marking system, Bhardwaj informed that "the number of questions will vary for different subjects. But each question will carry equal marks. Also, students will get options, for example they may have a choice to attempt 30 questions out of 35 questions."
