In a major announcement, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has decided to exempt examination fees of all those students who have lost their parents to Covid-19.
Releasing an official order in this regard, CBSE stated it has decided that neither the examination fees nor the registration fees will be charged by the Board from the students who have lost both parents or surviving parent or legal guardian or adoptive parents to the lethal virus.
The Board mentioned that this is a special measure for the Academic Session 2021-22 keeping in view the impact of the pandemic on the country and the students. CBSE has already communicated to the schools regarding submission of list of candidates (LOC) with relevant information for the Class 10th and 12th board examination 2022.
The schools while submitting the LOC will provide the details of these students after verifying the genuineness. The process of submission of LOC will continue till 30th September without late fees and thereafter, till 9th October with late fees.
For Indian schools, the fee is Rs 1,500 per student for 5 subjects while it is Rs 10,000 for the foreign schools. The LOC can be submitted up to 9th October with a late fee of Rs 2000.
For the first time, this year the CBSE will hold the annual Board exams in two terms for Classes 10 and 12 students with a reduced and revised syllabus. The Term-1 is likely to start from mid-November, while the Term-2 will be conducted between March and April 2022.
