Two days after detection of first Omicron cases, Odisha reported 2 more cases of the new Covid variant on Thursday (Dec 23). With this, the state's total tally of Omicron infection reached to 4, confirmed Odisha Public Health Director Niranjan Mishra.

As per reports, both the new infected cases are siblings aged 11 years and 13 years. They had returned from Nigeria along with their parents on December 13. They were in quarantine and were again tested on 8th day on December 21 where the two daughters were found positive. On Thursday, they were found infected with Omicron variant after genome sequencing report was out. The siblings are in isolation and are undergoing treatment, informed the Public Health Director.
