After Omicron variant of Covid-19 was detected in the neighboring state of Andhra Pradesh, the Odisha Directorate of Medical Education & Training Chief, Rama Raman Mohanty on Monday (Dec 13) allayed fears and assured that the State is prepared. The top health official said that though Omicron is spreading faster and with higher chances of re-infection, it’s severity of infection is quite lower.
The DMET Chief shared that till date the new Covid-19 variant has not entered the state. Meanwhile, Mohanty also asked people to not panic and instead follow Covid-appropriate behavior.
