Covid Outbreak: 19 Girl Students Test Positive In Two Schools In Odisha

Amid rising threat of ‘Omicron’ variant of Covid-19, as many as 9 girl students studying at a residential school at Dasrathpur in Jajpur district tested positive for the virus on Monday (Dec 6). Reports said that the infected girls were students of Class 6 and 9 at the government-run school.

The girls reportedly have been kept under isolation within the school premises. It is to be noted that samples of 195 girl students were collected for Covid-19 test earlier, out of which 9 tested positive. Meanwhile, 10 students of a Girls High School in Balipata Panchayat in Angul also tested positive for Covid-19 on Tuesday (Dec 7).

While results were found to be positive during antigen test, samples have again been sent for an RT-PCR.
