WATCH ‘Luita Phanit’ – The Seed Sowing Festival In Manipur

Residents of Phalee Village in Manipur’s Ukhrul district celebrated ‘Luita Phanit’- the festival of seed sowing. The festival observed every year with great fervour began on March 15 and concluded on March 20. Chingai MLA Khashim Vashum graced the occasion as chief guest and DIG Themthing Ngashangva was the guest of honour. The main highlights of the program were cultural folk dance, folksong competitions, wrestling, and tug of war. The seed sowing festival is one of the most important festivals of the Tangkhul Nagas.
