In an unfortunate incident, two people were killed while three people sustained critical injuries in a deadly explosion in Berhampur on Monday (April 19). The mishap took place inside a house at Kukudakhandi village under Berhampur Sadar Police Station on Ganjam district.
While one person died on the spot, the other succumbed to his injuries, while on his way to MKCG Hospital.
The deceased have been identified as A. Santosh Kumar from Kukudakhandi Panchayat and Suraj Patro from Ankushpur Panchayat.
The persons injured in the mishap were admitted to the MKCG Medical College and Hospital (MKCG-MCH) in a critical condition.
According to locals, the mishap could have occurred due to stone blasting in a crusher unit in the vicinity or due to an LPG cylinder blast inside the house.
