For years, academic success has been seen as the safest route to stability in India. However, India’s growing unemployment crisis continues to expose a difficult truth- academic excellence no longer guarantees career stability. Well, a recent viral video has reignited conversations around education, employability, and career choices among young Indians.
The Viral Clip That Reignited Conversations
Shared by Indian Tech and Infrastructure page on X, the viral clip features a 26-year-old woman whose qualifications tell one story — and her reality tells another.
Speaking honestly about her situation, she says, “Main 26 saal ki hoon aur mere paas duniya bhar ki pothi hai, degrees hai but still main berozgaar hoon.” Despite securing an 8.2 CGPA in graduation and studying Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology (PCMB) in Class 12, employment continues to remain out of reach.
The Endless Race for Qualifications
Like many students striving for career security, she believed higher education would eventually guarantee success. One degree led to another, extending her academic journey but delaying professional exposure. Looking back, she admits, “Uske baad main graduation karti rahi, time waste karti rahi degree ke peeche bhaagti rahi, phir post-graduation kiya. Then I realised ki mera passion logon ki madad karna hai.”
Her reflection highlights a growing concern among youth — the pressure to keep studying without clarity about career direction.
Years Invested in Competitive Exam Preparation
A significant phase of her journey revolved around preparing for government job examinations, a path chosen by millions seeking stability and social security.
Describing her experience, she says, “Ek attempt mein mere se clear nahi hua. At the end main last do mahine se taiyaari nahi kar rahi hoon, aur ab mujhe regret ho raha hai. Mujhe yeh bhi pata hai ki meri shaadi kar di jaayegi, aur in sab cheezon se nikal ke mujhe financially independent hona padega.”
Her words reflect the emotional and societal pressures many aspirants silently carry while chasing limited vacancies.
She further cautions students, stating, “Yeh CHSL, CGL, NEET ke trap mein mat phaso – seats bahut kam hain aur bachche bahut zyada hain. Yeh bhed chaal hai, khud par kaam karo.”
The Shift From Degrees to Skills
According to her, the professional landscape has changed dramatically. Opportunities today increasingly reward ability, creativity, and execution rather than academic certificates alone.
She explains, “Insta, YouTube par saare skills kaam kar rahe hain. Jitne bhi creators hain, sab ki skills dikh rahi hain, kisi ki degree nahi dikh rahi.”
Her message urges young people to explore skill-building, digital platforms, and hands-on experience early instead of postponing careers for years of exam preparation.
A Message That Resonated Widely
The video has struck a chord across social media, with many users relating to delayed careers despite strong educational backgrounds. For countless young Indians navigating uncertainty, her story serves as both reflection and warning — success today may depend less on degrees and more on adaptability.
