The case was registered after a preliminary inquiry on the basis of an a note verbale (diplomatic communication) received from Embassy of Germany in the International Police Cooperation Cell (IPCC) of the CBI on January 31, 2019.
Germany had informed about Sasche Treppke, who was sentenced to five years in prison in that country for involvement in sexual abuse of children and distributing child pornography.
It emerged during the investigation that he was part of 29 WhatsApp groups where child porn was being shared.
These groups have seven Indian mobile numbers too, they said.
All seven have been booked by the agency, the officials said.
“The studies of the students of Class-XI and XII may hamper as regular schooling process is disrupted due to COVID-19 pandemic. We have to explore alternate methods of learning, instead of chalk & talk method without breaking the rules and advisories suggested for the situation,” DHSE director Brundaban Behera wrote in a letter to the principals.
School heads have been directed to identify such types of alternate methods for learning of the students during this crisis.
“Instruct your subject faculties to make WhatsApp groups of their students and deliver their lessons through the app, followed by doubt clearing once in a fortnight,” the DHSE letter said.
The principals have also been asked to instruct their faculties to search different links and provide them to the students to get relevant topics in YouTube and smart online lectures of Byju’s Class, Khan Academy etc., so that the students can focus on self-study during this situation.
The directorate has directed the principals to instruct the faculties to keep records of their works for verification whenever necessary. The principals will have to verify the records and submit monthly report of the online classes to the directorate.

The police said that the person who created the chat group used an international number to evade detection. "But it appears to be the work of some insider as he had the photograph of the school's Biology teacher, which he used in its DP, as well as all the phone numbers," a police officer said
The probe has been handed over to UP Police's cyber cell, he said.
Alok Singh, circle officer of Badaut area, said, "Some vulgar pictures and videos were posted on WhatsApp group named 'Biology group Class 10'. The group had the display picture of the Biology teacher, who did not know about it. A probe has been ordered and it is being handled by the cyber-crime team."
The principal of the school said, "We had received a complaint. The WhatsApp account was fake, and was created with a foreign number. We have informed the police."
The chat screenshots shared by a few parents purportedly showed that the person using the number even asked for some pictures from the children. However, it was not clear what kind of pictures he was asking for.
