Odisha Weather Update: Depression Likely, Rainfall Expected To Increase, Says IMD

A cyclonic circulation currently lies over Gulf of Thailand and neighbourhood and is likely to emerge into South Andaman Sea. Under its influence a fresh low pressure area is likely to form over south Andaman Sea and neighbourhood by 13th November. Odisha is likely to experience light to moderate rainfall in many districts till November 16 under the influence of another low pressure this weekend.
Some districts of Odisha are likely to witness light to moderate rainfall owing up to a low pressure area formed over Southeast Bay of Bengal.
A Low Pressure is likely to form over Southeast Bay of Bengal around November 10, informed the Bhubaneswar Centre of India Meteorological department on Monday.
The places that recorded 20 degree Celsius or below are-- Malkangiri (15.5), Angul (16), Hirakud (16.2), Nayagarh (16.5), Sambalpur (16.7), Chandbali (16.8), Baripada (16.8), Talcher (17), Balasore (17.6), Sundargarh (18.5), Paradip (19.2), Gopalpur (19.6) and Puri (20).

The Bhubaneswar centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that overcast conditions are likely to prevail in Coastal parts and adjoining interior parts of the state. These conditions are likely to prevail under the influence of a trough from a low pressure area that extends to Westcentral Bay of Bengal off south Andhra Pradesh coast.
The Bhubaneswar centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) in its latest forecast stated that the trough in easterlies from the cyclonic circulation associated with the Low Pressure Area over Southwest Bay of Bengal has become less marked.
As per the India Meteorological Department, a low pressure is persisting over Southwest Bay of Bengal adjoining Sri Lanka off Tamil Nadu coast.
Under the influence of the low pressure, Ganjam, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri and Nabarangpur districts might receive light to moderate rain or thundershower.
The Low pressure over southwest Bay of Bengal off Sri Lanka coast is not going to have any impact on Odisha, informed the Bhubaneswar Centre of India Meteorological Department on Thursday.

As per the latest forecast by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the Southwest Monsoon is likely to withdraw from entire country around 26th October, 2021.
