The Odisha Vigilance sleuths on Thursday conducted simultaneous raids on the properties linked to Ajay Kumar Senapati, who works as an assistant engineer in (R & B) Division-II in Balasore district.

When interrogated, he failed to give a satisfactory answer following which the officials recovered the cash from his possession and made the seizure.

The simultaneous searches are being carried out over the allegations of amassing property disproportionate to his known sources of income.

Apart from this, land records pertaining to 13 plots in Bhubaneswar, Nayagarh and Jajpur districts have also been unearthed.

According to sources, simultaneous searches are being conducted in Cuttack, Jatani, Bhubaneswar, Jagatsingpur and Salipur by teams of the anti-corruption agency led by three DSPs, 11 Inspectors, two sub inspectors, five sub inspectors and other staff.

The court sentenced the four convicts to three-year RI and imposed a penalty of Rs 50,000 on each them. In default, they would undergo an additional six-month rigorous imprisonment.

According to sources, simultaneous raids were carried out at six places linked to Pani including his house and office.

Searches are underway at Rout's triple-storey building at Kunheipada in Cuttack, his brother Arun Kumar Rout's house in Choudwar, house at his native village in Kendrapara and office in Dampada.

Rs 10 lakh was recovered from the car of the Bidhan Chandra Sahu, Superintendent Engineer of Baitarini Irrigation Division in Keonjhar district by the anti-graft agency. Sahu was intercepted while he was on his way to his residence in Cuttack.

Patra had demanded Rs 20,000 from the complainant on the pretext of appointing him as a ladder man with the office of SDO electrical TPSODL.
