Odisha government on Wednesday (Dec 15) ordered to conduct exams for all Under Graduate (UG) and Post Graduate (PG) students in the state in the offline mode. However, citing the rise in cases of the new Covid-19 variant ‘Omicron’ in the country, several students reportedly opposed the decision while seeking the option of having online exams.
Odisha Higher Education department released the date schedule for admission, exam and result publication for UG & PG courses in colleges and Universities across state.
In a major announcement, Odisha Higher Education Minister Arun Sahoo has confirmed that the Under-graduate and Post-Graduate (UG & PG) exams will be held in Odisha this year. Following a high-level meeting, the minister on Friday said that the exams will be held in online mode. While the exams will most likely be held in July or August, Universities and the Autonomous Colleges will decide the exam dates and the appropriate methodology. Students can appear the examinations from home, and those who do not have access to technology can appear in nearest degree college, the minister said.
Amid uncertainty over the conduct of examinations for under-graduate (UG) and post-graduate (PG) students, Odisha Higher Education Minister, Arun Sahoo has said that a final decision in this regard is likely to be taken very soon.
