Tomato Flu was first detected in Kollam district in Kerala on May 6, and as of July 26, over 80 children less than five years of age were infected by the disease, as per reports from local government hospitals.
Out of the 36 samples that were collected and tested in the Regional Medical Research Centre in Bhubaneswar, 26 were found to be HFMD positive.
The Odisha Health director on Tuesday informed that at least 26 children have been detected with Tomato Flu or hand foot and mouth disease (HFMD).
