The Orissa High Court on Thursday ordered estranged couple, Doctor Sumit and his wife Tapaswini, to appear at the designated reconciliation centre on April 9.
n what can be termed as a jolt to Dr Sumit Sahu from Brahmanagar in Berhampur, the Orissa High Court on Wednesday upheld a lower court's decision ordering him to pay maintenance of Rs 17000 to his estranged wife Tapaswini by the 10th of every month.
Sahu also alleged that even as there was a lack of clarification in the order given by the District Court in Behrampur, the officials of the district administration and police allowed Tapaswini’s stay in the house.
Meanwhile, Sumit Sahu has decided to move the Orissa High Court challenging the lower court’s order.
Not contended with the court's order that went in favour of Tapaswini, Sumit has decided to move the Orissa HC with a plea challenging the order of the District Court, informed Sumit's lawyer.
Tapaswini Dash finally got some relief from the District Court in Berhampur which, after hearing the pleas of all parties, on Tuesday directed her to live at her in-law’s house at Brahmanagar in the Silk City with her husband Sumit Sahu.
The public saga of Tapaswini Dash trying hard to save her marriage with Dr Sumit Kumar Sahu has been in the headlines across Odisha for over the last one month.
Sumit said that he was under tremendous mental stress due to the allegations leveled against him by his wife Tapaswini and he was taking rest after consulting with doctors and his superior authorities.
