The court is hearing as many as 12 pleas, including the one filed by the Editors Guild of India, seeking an independent probe into the matter.

The top court was hearing a plea citing delay in the announcement of results of these categories of students, which may lead to denial of admission to them for higher studies.

The Supreme Court on Monday (Sept 6) announced that the Class 12 students appearing for Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Private, Patrachar and second compartmental exam can apply for higher education even before their results are published.
