While the upper age limit for the post of Inspector was 27, it has now been increased to 30.
Candidates seriously preparing for the SSC exams have now a golden opportunity at hands due to the age relaxation. However, as the SSC is yet to declare the dates of the CGL TierI exam, it is assumed that the examination will be held next year.
Meanwhile, it is also being predicted that this delay could increase the cut-off marks for general candidates. As per reports, previous year the cut-off mark was 130 which was reduced to 126 later.
Interested and eligible candidates should apply for the posts on or before the last date of submission of application, i.e. November 19, 2018.

Educational Qualification (As on January 1, 2019): The candidates must have passed 12th Standard or equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University. Other eligibility details provided in the notification.
Age Limit: (a) Stenographer Grade ‘C’: 18 to 30 years as on January 1, 2019 (i.e. candidates born on or after January 2, 1989 and born before or on January 1, 2001)

It may be mentioned here that initially the closing date for SSC GD Constable Registration was September 17 and it was further extended to September 30, keeping in view the load of applications.

The salient features of the examination are given below:
A total of 52, 20,335 candidates had registered themselves for the reported 58,373 vacancies. However, 30,41,284 candidates appeared in the examination. The overall percentage of attendance stood at 58.26%.
The examinations were conducted at 297 venues in across 125 cities, while the number of shifts were 54 (3 shifts per day).
The tentative date for declaration of results is May 31, 2019, stated the Commission through a notification released on March 11.
Interested and eligible candidates are advised to apply for the positions by September 26, 2019.

There are a total of 115 vacancies under different Ministries with 2 for OH and 5 for VH candidates.
Chairman of the Staff Selection Commission Braj Raj Sharma on Friday met the Union Minister of State for Development of North Eastern Region (I/C), Prime Minister’s Office Dr Jitendra Singh and apprised him that the Commission will fill about one lakh forty thousand vacancies in Group-B & Group-C for various Ministries/Departments and Offices of Government of India by March 2021.
Sharma said, both Gazetted and Non-Gazetted posts, besides Non-Technical ones will be filled up in a phased manner.
As on February 28, 2020, the Commission has already recommended 14,611 candidates for appointment in the Government of India. The Commission is likely to declare results for filling up of about additional 85,000 posts in various by June this year.
Sharma informed that additional 40,000 vacancies are likely to be filled up by the Commission in the remaining part of the Financial Year 2020-21 ( i.e. from July-20 to March-21).
The Staff selection Commission makes recruitment for:
(i) Group-B (Gazetted) posts in the Indian Audit and Accounts Department.
(i) Group-B (Non- Gazetted) Posts for various Ministries/Departments/Offices of Government of India.
