These days, it is common to find devotees along with their children spending nights on the sides of the grand road or shop verandahs in Puri.
After an important meeting held on Thursday, the Chief Administrator of the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA), Ranjan Das, while briefing journalists, said the restoration work will start from tomorrow morning.
The colour of the buildings on both sides of the Grand Road may change from the present ivory to light pink. The decision regarding the colour of the roadside buildings is said to have been taken yesterday during the visit of the chairperson of 5T, VK Pandian.

As per the decision, the devotees visiting the temple will be sensitized about the new rule through awareness drives. The Jagannath Temple Police and Pratihari servitors will check adherence to the rule.
The devotees enter the temple in queues. While waiting for their turn, they, mostly elderly ones, children, and diabetic patients, need toilet facilities. But surprisingly enough, there is no toilet near the eastern gate.
