Earlier on July 6, Puri king Gajapati Maharaja Dibyasingha Deb expressed his desire to see the Ratna Bhandar to be opened as soon as possible. He also raised demands for early repair of the Ratna Bhandar as its condition is not good.

According to the servitors, the temple is specifically for those who aren’t able to go into Srimandir due to one or the other reasons.

Since devotees are going to take part in the annual Rath Yatra festival after a gap of two years, this year’s festivals like Snana Purnima and Rath Yatra have assumed much importance.

A decision in this regard was taken at the first coordination committee meeting held at Puri, ahead of famous rath yatra.
