A couple of hours earlier the actress shared a few posts highlighting her joy and also posing in a way that clearly displayed the diamond on her ring finger which is a sure way of expressing that she is finally engaged to her longtime boyfriend Zaheer Iqbal.
In the caption to the post, Sona penned, “BIG day for me!!! One of my biggest dreams is coming truuuue… and i cant wait to share it with YOUUUU 🫵🏼 Cant believe it was SO EZI!!!!”
From her friends to followers, everyone speculated that she must have got engaged to Zaheer and showered love and good wishes. While most of the users speculated that EZI is for “Engaged to Zaheer Iqbal” there were a few who also speculated that it can be an announcement for the Bollywood launch for her brother.
Sona is yet to clarify about the same but her fans had seen this coming as they have been dating for some time. Interestingly, both of them made their debut in Bollywood around the same time. While Sona’s launch was a big one as she made her debut opposite Salman Khan in Dabangg, Zaheer debuted with Notebook in 2019.
The two lovebirds will share the screen for the first time in an upcoming movie Double XL. Helmed by Satram Ramani, the film also stars Huma Qureshi.
Till date Salman has portrayed several characters in varying genres of movies. However, the character of Chulbul Pandey/ Robinhood Pandey in Dabangg series earned him much appreciation. Though the third installment of the series didn't go well, the movie introduced new faces like Saiee Manjrekar and Kichha Sudeep in BTown.
Nevertheless, fans still are in awe of the new entrant who went on to garner the title of Dabangg Girl. Veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha's daughter Sonakshi Sinha made her debut with Sallu bhai in Dabangg and was seen in 2nd and 3rd installments as well.
It was her acting skills that paved her way towards achieving different milestones as an actress in the film industry. However, it seems, now the actress has decided to become a bride and tie the knots.
Yes, you got it right! As per latest buzz in the industry, Salman Khan Aka Chulbul Pandey who paired with Sonakshi Sinha in Dabangg series will be welcoming her as bride.
If the recent rumours are anything to go by, Sonakshi has finally decided to get married with her longtime boyfriend with which she will become a part of Khan family.
If you are thinking that Sonakshi will tie the knots with Salman or Arbaaz then hold on for a moment. Though Sona will get related with Sallu bhai, it is not a direct relationship.
As per the reports, the Akira actor is in relationship with Bunty Sachdevan who is Salman's youngest brother Sohail Khan's brother-in-law. And, she will be tying the knots with Bunty soon. Though, the relationship between the onscreen couple is distant, her name will soon get adjoined with the Khan family. Indeed, it is expected that Sallu bhai will be present at the wedding venue to welcome his onscreen lover/wife and a real-life friend as a bride.
Well, fans have to wait for an official announcement regarding the same.
On the work front, Salman will be next seen in Tiger 3 alongside Katrina Kaif. Moreover, Emraan Hashmi will be seen locking horns with 'Tiger' in the movie. Emraan will be seen with Salman onscreen for the first time. The level of excitement among fans has by now reached the zenith as Emraan has already set a dignified identity in the industry with several blockbusters.
Unimpressed with it, Sonakshi had on December 11 posted on Twitter: "Hey Amazon India! Look what I got instead of the Bose headphones I ordered! Properly packed and unopened box, looked legit... but only on the outside. Oh and your customer service doesn't even want to help, that's what makes it even worse."

She even posted a photographs of the box.
"Anybody want to buy a brand new shiny piece of junk for 18,000 bucks? (Yup, its a steal). Don't worry, I'm selling, not Amazon, so you'll get exactly what you're ordering," Sonakshi added with sarcasm.

This seems to be some sort of promotion or something else. Otherwise @amazonIN would have replied very soon. Those who are blaming amazon, I would say that Amazon's customer support is one of the best in the world. I have been shopping for 4 years & never had a bad experience.

Ramdev, whose brand Patanjali is the sponsor of Nach Baliye 8, appeared on the show on Tuesday and he came with a lot of security.
The makers of the show had commandos and sniffer dogs on the set to make sure that security was tight.
According to sources, Ramdev reached the sets amidst Z-plus security. "The episode made up was highly entertaining. Viewers can see Ramdev doing yoga on the show," said a source from the set.
During his visit, Ramdev taught the judges - actress Sonakshi Sinha, ace choreographer Terence Lewis and filmmaker Mohit Suri - how to do Kapalbhati.
Nach Baliye 8 is aired on Star Plus.
"Just the beginning of the year, and the end of a new film! Its a wrap for me on 'Kalank'... a project I am proud to be a part of! Cant wait for you all to see it. On top of the world," Sonakshi tweeted.
"Kalank" also features Alia Bhatt, Sanjay Dutt, Varun Dhawan, Madhuri Dixit-Nene and Aditya Roy Kapur. Abhishek Varman is directing the epic drama, which will hit the screens on April 19.
The film is being produced by Karan Johar, Sajid Nadiadwala, Hiroo Yash Johar and Apoorva Mehta. It has been co-produced by Fox Star Studios.
Lauding Sonakshi's transformation, Hrithik tweeted: "Stunning! I remember a 'before' conversation years ago and now this! Well done Sonakshi Sinha, you are going to inspire many. Keep going."
To this, Sonakshi replied: "That ‘before' conversation was an inspiration in itself! Thank you for always being so motivating Hrithik! This is just the beginning."
On the acting front, Hrithik will next be seen in "Super 30", a biographical drama based on the life of mathematician Anand Kumar and his educational programme in Patna.
It stars Hrithik as Kumar and debutant Mrunal Thakur in lead roles.
"Volleying some with the soldiers. Thanks for this amazing opportunity. Sports girl for life, volleyball, Jai Jawaan, Bhuj, Punjab Regiment, Army camp," Sonakshi, who was there to shoot for a news channel, tweeted on Saturday.
"Certain experiences just become a part of who you are. Will never forget the time I spent with our amazing soldiers, tried some of the things they do, made them smile and left with an unforgettable experience," she added.
Sonakshi had featured in "Holiday: A Soldier Is Never Off Duty" that presented the story of Virat Bakshi (played by actor Akshay Kumar), Captain in D.I.A., a secret wing of Indian Army.
Meanwhile, she will be seen in "Kalank". Conceptualised by Karan Johar and his late father Yash Johar almost 15 years ago, "Kalank" is an epic drama set in the 1940s
The Vintage Glamour charity Ball will be held on Friday at Grosvenor House Hotel, London, read a statement to IANS.
Sonakshi will be aiding the organisation to raise funds for the projects that reflect the ethos of empowering women and children.
"WIA is one of the oldest Indian charitable organisations in the UK which is completely dedicated in its commitment to empowering women and children through education, rehabilitation, life skills and social welfare," Sonakshi said.
"I feel honoured to be part of the gala this year and help them raise funds for their ongoing effort to reconstruct the place of women and children in our society," she added.
According to a source, the actress has wrapped up "her shoot for 'Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi' and is amidst prep for 'Kalank' and rehearsals for the Dabbang Tour".
"When this opportunity came her way, she knew it's something she wanted to pursue given how legitimate their efforts were towards women and children's initiatives. So she decided to make time for the gala," the source added.
"I do have some practice driving manual cars but this mini truck was no cakewalk. It was a very old and heavy vehicle and because it was manual, the steering and gears were extremely tiresome and required a lot of strength to manoeuvre," Sonakshi said in a statement to IANS.
"Since it was a chase sequence, I had to accelerate the speed but with enough skill to guide my course safely on the roads. Having to burn rubber with that massive beast was quite the challenge but when we got it, the feeling was incredible," she added.
"Happy Phir Bhaag Jayegi" is a sequel to "Happy Bhag Jayegi", featuring Diana Penty, Ali Fazal and Abhay Deol that was released in 2016.
The romantic comedy narrated the story of a girl named Happy, who runs away from her wedding and reaches Pakistan by mistake.
Diana features in the sequel too. She is joined by actress Sonakshi whose character also runs away from her wedding. Mudassar Aziz, who helmed the first part, is back on the director's chair for the sequel.
The scene for which Sonakshi drove the vehicle was crucial.
"It was a rather crucial scene that was being shot in Kuala Lumpur recently. The scene was a chase sequence for which Sonakshi was required to drive a mini truck as a means for her character to escape.
"The truck was an old, heavy metal bodied hulk and driving it required a fair bit of familiarity and control with it's weight and functionality. She was clear from the get go that she didn't want a double for it and hence she spent a fair bit of time driving the truck and getting used to it. It was not easy as it was an old self geared truck which required some serious strength to push it around," said a source.
Made under the banner Eros International and Aanand L Rai's Colour Yellow Productions, the film will also feature Abhay Deol and Jimmy Shergill. "Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi" is set to release on August 24.
Actress Diana Penty, who played a runaway bride in the first part of the film, has returned for the sequel. She is joined by actress Sonakshi Sinha, whose character also runs away from her wedding, in "Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi".
"Turns out I'm not the only ‘Happy' around, there's one more on the run! Lace up Sonakshi Sinha. Let's get this started 'Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi'. August 24," Diana tweeted on Tuesday.
Mudassar Aziz, who helmed the first part, is back on the director's chair for the sequel.
The film will be singer Jassie Gill's first Bollywood project. "Feeling thrilled and proud to share this news with you guys, my first Bollywood movie 'Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi' is releasing on August 24," he tweeted.
The film will also feature Abhay Deol, Ali Fazal and Jimmy Shergill.
Sonakshi on Sunday took to Twitter, where she shared a photograph of a man holding a placard with her name spelt as "Sunakshi Sonja".
"Swadeekha (Welcome). In Bangkok for the final schedule of 'Happy Bhag Jayegi Returns'! Looking forward to a whole month of work and play," Sonakshi captioned the image.
"Happy Bhag Jayegi Returns" is the second instalment of the film "Happy Bhag Jayegi", which released in 2016.
The sequel is being directed by Mudassar Aziz and also features Diana Penty, Abhay Deol, Jimmy Shergill and Ali Fazal.
"I want to live in a world where we, as women, are able to choose. We have been playing the waiting game for the longest time. Women are always waiting to be protected, rescued, for permission, validation, acceptance and approval," Sonakshi said here on Friday at a short film festival based on women's safety and empowerment.
"We live in a country where we worship Goddess Laxmi, Saraswati, Kali and Durga but we eliminate girl child before she sees the world. I don't want to live in a world like that and honestly, an initiative to end gender-based violence is a commendable effort," she added.
Sonakshi, who has portrayed strong female characters in films like "Akira", "Force 2' and "Noor", says that being an actor gives her the means to make a difference.
"I am a part of the Hindi film industry, and being an actor gives me a voice, and perspective gives me ways and means to make a difference."
"Being here, I am really happy that so many people have taken the effort to make these short films and showcasing there films over here. Through this medium, we can reach out to so many people across the world and create some sort of awareness."
Sonakshi admitted that she was accused of doing a lot of roles in films that were regressive.
"Fingers are always pointed at me. Nobody pulled up the writer who wrote the script or the director who made the film. It was always me and I used to be defensive about it thinking why this is happening to me is because I am just an actor but then I realised that may be, in some way they are right and maybe I shouldn't be doing what I am doing," she said.
"May be I should be doing something that doesn't portray me as a damsel in distress which is why I started doing films like ‘Akira' where I played a martial artist who was able to take care of herself.
"I did a film called ‘Force 2' where I was a RAW agent. I did a film called ‘Noor' where I played a working woman and honestly, all these roles empowered me in some or the other way," she said.
Sonakshi was last seen on the big screen in this year's film "Ittefaq".
Sonakshi, along with actors Sidharth Malhotra and Akshaye Khanna, appeared on the special show "Interrogation with Karan Johar" to promote their forthcoming film "Ittefaq".
Asked whether she enjoyed seducing Sidharth in the film, Sonakshi said: "Every actor has that (one) thing which they are not very good at or they are uncomfortable doing. Sometimes it is comedy, sometimes it's emotional scenes, sometimes it's seduction.
"It was really very uncomfortable. See, I am a very good actor, that's why it didn't show, but I was very uncomfortable."
Sonakshi said this discomfort was not just with Sidharth but "in general in front of cameras".
On the show, Sonakshi also revealed that she had a crush on actor Hrithik Roshan.
"He (Hrithik) was my first crush in school and when his film released, I went ballistic. He is the only actor whose posters I have had in my room. I used to send a boy from my house to his -- we stay five minutes from each other -- everyday with a different poster. I used to say, 'Get me his autograph'. He is the only actor I have ever done that for," she said.
Priyanka, the goodwill ambassador for Unicef, is currently in Jordan to help children uprooted by the civil war in Syria.
A large number of Syrian families were either killed or forced to leave their homes due to the conflict. Since then, these families are taking shelter in neighbouring countries like Jordan.
Sonakshi, 30, on Monday took to Twitter to laud Priyanka's work with Unicef.
"What Priyanka Chopra is doing right now with Unicef is what we must all aspire to do in life - make a difference. Woman of substance," Sonakshi tweeted.
Priyanka also shared a series of photographs of herself, where she is seen spending time with the families of the affected.
On the acting front, Sonakshi will next be seen in "Ittefaq", directed by Abhay Chopra. The film is an adaptation of the similarly titled 1969 film.
Sonakshi, who is the daughter of veteran actor and politician Shatrughan Sinha, completed her seven years in Bollywood on Sunday. She made her debut with superstar Salman Khan starrer "Dabangg" in 2010.
The actress on Sunday took to twitter to thank Salman, Azbaaz Khan and Abhinav Kashyap for the film.
"Seven years of Dabangg (equals to) Seven years of Sonakshi! Thank you Salman Khan, Arbaaz Khan and Abhinav Kashyap for this and all that followed," Sonakshi tweeted.
The "Rowdy Rathore" actress, 30, also thanked her fans for all the love.
"And thank you all for the wishes and love that's been pouring in! You make me feel like I can go on for 70 more years. Seven years of Sonakshi," she added.
Sonakshi is now gearing up for her 16th film in Hindi cinema -- "Ittefaq", a thriller film, directed by Abhay Chopra and produced by Red Chillies Entertainment and Dharma Productions.
The film is an adaptation of the 1969 film by the same name. The film also stars Sidharth Malhotra and Akshaye Khanna.
Shraddha on Wednesday took to Twitter to make the announcement.
"Saina Nehwal -- The former World number one badminton player. An Indian girl. An inspiration to millions. A youth icon in the truest sense," Shraddha tweeted.
The actress says Nehwal's "journey to the top has been fascinating".
"I am honoured to be given this opportunity to play her in my next film 'Saina'," she added.
The actress, who is currently promoting her forthcoming film "Half Girlfriend", says preparing for the film will be very challenging for her.
"The preparation for this film is going to be very, very challenging. It's probably going to be my most difficult film till date," she said.
"'Saina' is going to be directed by Amole Gupte and produced by T-Series," she added.
Shraddha is also prepping for another biopic titled "Haseena: The Queen of Mumbai" in which she plays underworld don Dawood Ibrahim's sister Haseena Parkar. Shraddha's brother Siddhanth Kapoor will play the notorious gangster Dawood Ibrahim in the biopic.
It is said that Sonakshi Sinha was earlier finalised to play Haseena but the actress reportedly walked out due to date issues.
Last seen on the screen in Shaad Ali's "Ok Jaanu", a remake of Mani Ratnam's "Ok Kanmani", Shraddha will be seen next in "Half Girlfriend", directed by Mohit Suri.
"Firstly, I am not performing at the Bieber concert. It was speculated because I was approached and carried forward by publications and portals even after I stated in various interviews that it's not happening," said a statement issued on Sonakshi's behalf.
The 29-year-old actress further added that she loves music and if anyone has problem with that then they can go and "love" themselves.
"Secondly, I am an actor who loves music, who loves to perform and who loves to sing. And if anyone has a problem with that, in the wise words of baba Bieber himself... they can go "love" themselves. Over and out," she said.
Sonakshi was reportedly performing as one of the opening acts at the concert, which will be held at the DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai on May 10.
Kher had shown his disapproval and told IANS in an interview that getting the "Dabangg" actress on board to perform at Bieber's maiden concert in the country over any other acclaimed Indian singer is not a good sign, and sends a wrong message internationally.
However the event's promoter also issued a statement clarifying the move.
"With regards to inclusion of Bollywood stars, for music events of this stature which attract colossal media traction, its hard to shy away from the fact that Bollywood plays a very vital role in generating mass awareness and enhancing the global goodwill of the country," Arjun Jain, Director of the White Fox India said in a statement.
"With regards to homegrown music artists being given an equal opportunity at such platforms most promoters try to inculcate an inclusive line-up that blends well with the expected target audience at the event. With regards to the Justin Bieber India Purpose Tour, we do have a line-up that includes local DJ participation who do resonate well with the expected attendees at the event," Jain added.
The Justin Bieber Purpose Tour "follows a strict global mandate to not integrate any live act as part of the opening act as the focus should be on the headliner artist."
"As much as we would like to include a balanced line up of music and film personalities we will need to adhere to the guidelines as laid down by the global management," he added.
Sonakshi will next be seen as a judge alongside director Mohit Suri and ace choreographer Terence Lewis on upcoming couple dance reality show "Nach Baliye 8", where Divyanka will appear as a contestant alongside her husband Vivek Dahiya.
After watching Divyanka and Vivek's performance while shooting for the first episode, Sonakshi said: "They set the perfect example of ‘romance wala dance'.
"My mother is a huge fan of Divyanka. She loves her performance in ‘Yeh Hai Mohabbatein' and looks upon Ishi Maa's character on screen and catches her episodes whenever she spares time."
Divyanka was overwhelmed on hearing that and said: "I hope I can have her on one of the episodes, seek her blessings in person and get a chance to share the stage with her."
"Nach Baliye 8" will be aired on Star Plus starting from Sunday.
"Ever since 'Dabangg' released I was getting lot of offers from down South but I was not able to take it up as I had films keeping me busy here. This time I wanted to make that foray into South Indian films as creatively they are rich and they make such wonderful films... I wanted to experience this whole new world," Sonakshi told PTI.
"I couldn't have asked for a better debut in Tamil cinema. Here in Bollywood I made my debut with superstar Salman Khan in 'Dabangg' and in South with superstar Rajinikanth. I am very happy," Sonakshi said.
Talking about the South legend and co-star, Sonakshi said, "The popularity of Rajini sir is so much that there were several fans while we were shooting. He is an amazing person and actor. He is a huge superstar but he is very humble man.
He talks to everybody nicely."
Ask her if she also is a big Rajini fan, the 26-year-old actress said, "I have not grown up watching too many films of him. I had seen 'Hum' and I used to watch it over and over again I just loved him a lot in that film."
Sonkashi's actor-politician father, Shatrughan Sinha and Rajinikanth share a friendly equation.
"I did not feel intimidated. When we were on sets, I went upto him and said 'it is an honour to be working with you but I am nervous'. He said 'why you should be nervous I should be nervous as you are my friend's daughter'. That broke the ice and it was nice of him to keep the conversation humorous," Sonakshi said.
"The role is not that he would or I would feel uncomfortable with each other. It is a very well written role.
I am glad to be part of the film," she said.
Directed by K S Ravikumar, the film spans generations and goes from current times to the flashback.
"'Lingaa' is based in two eras, one in present and other in 1940s... I wanted to be part of this magical world," she said without revealing any other details of her role.
An online portal awarded the superstars with the title to appreciate their endeavour to stay connected with their fans through social media.
The actors were given award by BollywoodLife.com, a digital portal for Bollywood news as it hosted a Social Media Film Awards 2015. The awards felicitated celebrities who not only have a strong presence on social media, but also boast a huge fan base, read a statement.
A poll was conducted last month on the digital platform to get the results and winners of 16 categories. The poll saw an overwhelming response with over 13 lakh votes.
The voters were widespread and apart from India, celebrity fan clubs from Russia, Britain and the US participated.
Dedicating the award to all his fans, Shah Rukh, who already has earned epithets like "King of Romance" and "Baadshah", appreciated the new medium which has created a bridge to communicate with a wider audience.
"There are so many people around the world who have given me love and support for many years. Earlier, letters and cards used to be the only way of communicating and thanking them. Now, social media has made life easier. I can be closer to all my fans - thank them, hear them out and chat with them," he said.
"This award goes to all the people around the world who love me and support me unconditionally,” Shah Rukh said in a statement.

Salman, Strowman, Sonakshi and Diana have shared screen space for the first time on the reality television show Dus Ka Dum.
Going by a video Salman has hosted, Sonakshi and Diana and the Bhaijaan himself seemed very happy and excited to meet Brown Strowman on the sets, where the two ladies promoted their upcoming film 'Happy Phirr Bhaag Jayegi'.
Ten hours before the show, Bhaijaan shared a small video in his tweet saying, "Dumdaar Weekend is getting more Dumdaar! Look who's coming on Dus Ka Dum, the one and only Brown Strowman! Can't wait to show you all the fun we had with Sonakshi Sinha and Diana Penty.
Strowman shocked everyone when he twisted and twirled a frying pan and completely destroyed its shape and said, "You can see what I can do to metals. Imagine what I can do to the human body." And seriously, all three other than Strowman had scary faces and decided to run away from the Big Man.

"Dus Ka Dum" is certainly growing popular again on Sony Entertainment Television and even though there was a gap of nine years, we cannot deny the fact that Salman and his fans have complemented each other to a very high level.
Salman, who has spent over two decades in the Hindi film industry, continues to be one of the biggest crowd pulers in Bollywood.
On a personal note, on the satisfaction that he draws from television, he said it's about meeting people who come with no pretence and in that process, he lets go of the veil of superstardom too.
Four others have also been named in the police complaint alleging that the actress along with four others -- Malvika Punjabi, Dhumil Thakkar, Edgar Sakaria and Abhishek Sinha -- have defrauded the complainant of Rs 32 lakh.
In the police complaint, Pramod Sharma has said that an amount of Rs 32 lakh had been transferred to Sonakshi's account for her presence at an event but she did not turn up.
Accusing the police of inaction, Sharma had consumed poison recently but was saved.
A police official said that they have registered a case after a probe into the matter and the organiser was trying to unnecessarily exert pressure on them by acts like consuming poison. The official told IANS that the India Fashion and Beauty Award programme had been organised on September 30 last year.
Talent Full On Company was roped in for the event and after talking to the private secretary of Sonakshi, Rs 32 lakh was deposited in her account. At the last minute however, Sonakshi cancelled her appearance causing losses to the organisers.
The teaser of the love saga, featuring Sanjay Dutt, Madhuri Dixit Nene, Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Aditya Roy Kapur and Sonakshi Sinha, was launched on Tuesday. It has garnered over 26 million views in 24 hours across social media platform -- YouTube, Facebook and Instagram.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UmhXhTmP0a0
The two-minute video features the entire cast of the film, and transports one to the era of 1940. The teaser builds intrigue around the plot of the film.
Along with the varied hues of love, the Abhishek Verman-directed period drama will also highlight the trials and tribulations of love with the spotlight on communal tensions.
Varun posted: "'Kalank' highest amount of views for a teaser in a day."
Presented by Fox Star Studios, the film is produced by Dharma Productions, Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, Hiroo Yash Johar and Apoorva Mehta, and co produced by Fox Star Studios. It will release on April 17.
Appreciating the benchmark, Fox Star Hindi tweeted: "Thank you for showing such love to our eternal love story."
Dharma Productions also posted: "'Kalank' teaser touches 26 million hearts in 24 hours."
She in fact feels that what he did was a bit too late.
Talking about her father's decision to quit the BJP, the actress said: "It's his decision and I feel if you are not happy the way things are taking place, then it's necessary to bring the change and that's what he did.
"I hope with his new association with the Congress, he will be able to do a lot more good and not feel suppressed."
Sonakshi said her father enjoyed a lot of respect within the BJP and that even party stalwarts who had been with her father from early times had not been given the respect they deserved.
"So, it was time to move on. Actually he has done it bit too late. He should have done it a long back," Sonakshi told the media at the Hindustan Times Most Stylish Awards 2019 on Friday here.
Shatrughan Sinha's exit from the BJP came days after Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad was declared the party's candidate from Bihar's Patna Sahib, which was Sinha's constituency for 10 years.
Sonakshi was asked whether her father was disappointed with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP for not being treated with respect.
Sinha, a vocal critic of the BJP since he was denied a cabinet post in 2014, has questioned the party over demonetization and denial of ticket to veteran leader L.K. Advani to contest the elections.
Sinha is expected to join the Congress on April 6.
"It makes a huge difference in my performance depending on the rapport with my co-actor. It brings so much to the scene when you know the co-actor is giving you the room to flourish your performance...when you share a chemistry and a certain warmth with your actor. The scene comes out to be way more organic," Alia told IANS in an interview.
In her forthcoming film "Kalank", Alia has shared screen space with Varun and Aditya Roy Kapur.
"When it comes to 'Kalank', since all of us played very complex characters, we were engrossed in our own journeys and at the same time were supportive of each other," added the actress, who said she has no hangover of the success scored by her last release "Gully Boy".
Does that success add confidence to her as an actor?
"I am very responsive to all the love and appreciation that I have got for 'Gully Boy' because it is a result of our hard work. So when I say 'thank you', I do not take a compliment as in 'Yeah, I am a great actor and I deserve all this'. I rather think about the fact that how our hard work is getting appreciation.
"But it is not good to be too confident, that I would carry it while promoting the next film, thinking people will like all my films. Having said that, I am confident about 'Kalank' because we put all our efforts to create a world, narrate an intense story of love," she added.
Alia, 26, said she is never too attached to her success or criticism.
"That is the nature of the business. If I fail, I would rather learn from the mistake and move on... that's the way it works," the "Raazi" star said.
In "Kalank", Alia plays Roop, a character she says is her most complex one so far.
"She is a girl with a lot of values of modern day. She may not be doing all the right things in life but her intention is not bad. She is emotional. Since she is vulnerable and burdened by the journey of life, but at the same time with all her complexity, she is adorable. The challenging part was to make her likeable... Hopefully people will like it," she said.
Alia started her career in 2010 with "Student Of The Year". She has bagged several awards for her performance in successful films like "2 States", "Highway", "Badrinath Ki Dulhania", "Udta Punjab" and "Kapoor & Sons".
How has her approach towards acting changed with experience?
"As an actor, I am very much of a switch on and switch off. In fact, I do not want to think too much about the scene by almost zoning myself out from reality before the camera rolls. I memorize all my dialogues months earlier so that it can become my second nature. I mean the moment I hear 'action', I can say the dialogues... it's in my head. This, and performing with instinct are the two things happened to me over time.
"Perhaps that is why I can't repeat the same thing in a retake. Then my director has to show me, and I will try to recreate that, which mostly does not happen because I am instinctive and spontaneous as a performer," she said.
Directed by Abhishek Verman, "Kalank" releases on April 17.

Asked about how she remains an ever-smiling and humble actress without any starry tantrums, Sonakshi told IANS here: "I think that has a lot to do with the fact that I love what I do. So for me, every film is new, as if it's my first film. So I am getting to know a character, and performing it, which is not mechanical. Rather there is a raw energy which I use to try to mould myself into the character.

"In real life, I am never treated like a Bollywood star by any of my loved ones -- whether it is my parents, brothers, my childhood friends who are still my friends and not from the industry. They keep me grounded... (I am) the same Sona they know.
"I believe the best way to stay connected with the reality is not surrounding yourself with 'yes madam' people. People who are mine, they love and criticise me at the same time," added the daughter of celebrated actor and politician Shatrughan Sinha
Sonakshi has multiple films lined up for release this year and versatility is something she is taking seriously.
"I want to say that this is such an exciting year for me... 'Kalank' is my first release of this year and I have three more after that. Yes, four releases. And the reason why I found back-to-back long working hours enjoyable because every character is so different from one another.
"While in 'Kalank', I am playing a woman of the 1940s era, in 'Mission Mangal' I am playing a scientist. I am shooting for a yet-untitled film in which I am playing an independent girl who is trying to achieve her dream against all odds. And there is 'Dabangg 3' where I am going back to Rajjo, the character I started my on-screen journey with. So you see, a full circle."
Sonakshi is playing a crucial role in the multi-starrer "Kalank", where she has shared screen space with Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Aditya Roy Kapur, Madhuri Dixit Nene and Sanjay Dutt.

On her character, she said: "My character is a very strong, resilient and silent woman who holds the family together. She has a very important part to play in the narrative."
https://www.instagram.com/p/BvBsqvYAc7D/
As the story set in the 1940s era, asked about how she looks at the charge of women's role in society and if new age women really hold the characteristics of 'sacrifice' at all, Sonakshi said: "The position of women in our society surely has changed for the better but there is a lot to come. In the present time, when we are celebrating women empowerment and just looking around us in the urban crowd, it looks really great.
https://www.instagram.com/p/Bu5Y_2rAPlp/
"It only inspires more women to dream big and achieve. But we cannot deny the fact that there are women in every pocket of the society who are sacrificing their ambition because their voices are suppressed by the society that perhaps traditionally practising misogyny.

"The good thing is, the number is growing of women who are finding their voice and coming up on public platforms."
The 26-year-old star says with age she has realised it is important to be detached from both success and failure and give priority to relationships in her life.
"I'm very passionate about acting, filmmaking and this whole world. But it is still a part of my life, it is not my life. I have realised this now that at the end of the day my family, my relationships and my loved ones are my priority.
"You realise all this with age. I still give my 100 per cent to each and every film I do, but I think it is not wrong to say that the people in my life, the memories and the moments I have with them are my priority," Alia told PTI in an interview.
The "Raazi" star adds she enjoys working in movies, but she does not let it overshadow her personal life.
"I don't like being too attached to my journey. Be it success or failure... I don't let it overpower me. I shuffle between detaching and attaching. I'm just happy as long as I am working and I want to continue working. But still it is necessary to not take things too much on heart."
Alia says performing in front of the camera satisfies her creative appetite and box office numbers do not bother her.
"Nobody wants to fail. But what is important for me is to feel satisfied with the process of filmmaking and then leaving the decision to the world. Then you just have to live with it, deal with it and learn from it."
From playing a child sexual abuse victim in "Highway" to essaying the role of a spy in "Raazi", Alia's choices have surprised both audiences and critics. She, however, says her aim is to not "shock" the viewers but challenge herself instead.
"Surprising people with my choices is being manipulative. I just believe in challenging myself. The reasoning will be wrong if I am trying to bring a shock value with my choices. The reason for me to choose a film is the story," she says.
Alia will next be seen in "Kalank", which releases Wednesday.
The actor features opposite Varun Dhawan, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditya Roy Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt and Madhuri Dixit Nene in the film produced by Dharma Productions.
She says the film is important for her because it is her most high budget project till date.
"It is a very important film for me and Varun. It is our biggest film in terms of budget till date. Honestly, we have a stress of our own release, but director Abhishek (Varman) is a close friend so the stress doubles. The journey on this film was not fun and games. It was very emotional and intense," she adds.
Praising Varman, with whom she also worked in "2 States", Alia says he is a "complete director".
"He will get the beauty, drama, scale and naturalness so organically. He is the first person I call for any advice.
According to sources, the film will dig into the past of Chulbul Pandey with certain flashbacks. The flashbacks will show the journey of young Chulbul Pandey from a goon to becoming a cop. Salman will have to put on weight to play the cop character. As per the plot of the film, Chulbul was a goon before joining police force and this time the Dabangg cop will take on the land mafias.
Besides, fans will see Sonakshi Sinha as Rajjo but certain reports state that the film will have one more female lead. The second lead actress in the film will be seen as the past love interest of the Dabangg cop. However, there is no confirmation from the makers about the other lead actress.
The high on action film is slated to release this year in December. Ace choreographer and filmmaker Prabhu Deva is directing Dabangg 3. Several pictures and BTS videos from the sets of Dabangg 3 has hyped anticipation among the fans who are eagerly waiting to discover more about 'Bhaijaan's Dabanggiri.'

The garments from Sonakshi's wardrobe will be available on SaltScout.com, an online platform for charity auctions and sales, from July 2.
Sonakshi is the second celebrity guest to join the initiative, which aims to benefit the planet and support the education and healthcare of the underprivileged through Being Human - The Salman Khan Foundation.
Alia said in a statement: "Through MiSu, we're trying to increase awareness around reusing and recycling, to divert clothing from landfills and help reduce waste.
"I'm grateful for Sona's generous support on the initiative. The response from friends and fans has been so encouraging and going forward we plan to introduce other celebrity wardrobes giving fans around the world a chance to be a part of the eco-movement."
Sonakshi said: "It is a lovely idea and I was only too happy to chip in with Alia and help do my bit. Each buyer gets a garment that has sentimental value."
'Mi Wardrobe is Su Wardrobe' is a closet sharing initiative conceptualised by Alia Bhatt.
The first two instalments saw Alia's wardrobe on sale, proceeds from which supported the Liter of Light program and The Corbett Foundation respectively. The third instalment featured actress Anushka Sharma's wardrobe, proceeds from which will support animal welfare.
"An event organiser who couldn't live up to his commitment obviously thinks he can make a fast buck by maligning my crystal clear image in the press. There is full cooperation with the authorities from my end for the investigation to be conducted. Would request the media not to fan these bizarre claims of an uscrupulous man," the actress tweeted.
On Thursday, a team of officials from Uttar Pradesh Police visited Sonakshi's residence, Ramayana, to record her statement.
The complainant has alleged that Sonakshi failed to turn up for a performance she had been signed up for. Reportedly, she had received Rs 32 lakh as booking amount for the show.
Sonakshi, however was not at home on Thursday when the group of officials from UP Police, with the assistance of policemen from Juhu police station, arrived at her residence.
The police team will visit her again on Friday.
Sonakshi was last seen in the multistarrer flop, "Kalank", and will soon be seen in projects such as "Khandaani Shafakhana", "Mission Mangal" and "Dabangg 3".
Asked for her views of dating someone in the industry, Sonakshi said: "My parents want me to date a 'susheel ladka' and no one from the Bollywood film industry is like that."
Sonakshi, daughter of actor-politician Shatrughan Sinha and Poonam Sinha, went on to reveal that she was in a relationship with someone from the industry.
"I have dated a celebrity and the world doesn't know," she said, without divulging details about her romantic liaison.
"If my boyfriend cheats on me, he won't live to see the next day," she added.
Directed by Shilpi Dasgupta, Sonakshi's upcoming film "Khandaani Shafakhana" depicts the story of a young girl who inherits her dead uncle's sex clinic in Punjab. The film is slated for release on August 2.
Talking about working with Shilpi, the actress said: "Women directors come with a kind of sensibility and sensitivity that male directors do not have."
The actress opened up on an episode of show "By Invite Only".
The film, directed by Shilpi Das Gupta, revolves around a woman who inherits a sex clinic from her uncle.
"We consider ourselves a modern society but we hesitate to talk about sex. If you are preachy, people don't pay attention. You have to put it across in a way they understand.
"We have said it in a nice, funny and entertaining way. The director treated the subject with a lot of sensitivity. It talks about the importance of sex education, which should be introduced in schools," Sonakshi told reporters here at the trailer launch of her film.
Sharing similar views, her co-star from the film rapper-actor Badshah said it is important to impart sex education.
"I think there should be family planning... We are a country of 130 crore people. Our resources are getting exhausted and we must think of family planning," he said.
Producer Mrigdeep Singh Lamba added, "At a certain age, we should talk about the subject and that is the bottom line of our film as well."
"Khandaani Shafakhana" is set to release on August 2 with Sidharth Malhotra-Parineeti Chopra's "Jabariya Jodi" but the team is not concerned about the box office clash.
"There are only a few dates where a film can get a solo release and we have to come along with each other. And we hope every film finds their audience.
"We are confident and proud of our product. We hope many people will come and watch the film."
Varun Sharma, Annu Kapoor, Nadira Babbar and Kulbhushan Kharbanda are also a part of the cast.
The film is co-produced by Sundial Pictures and T-Series.
In "Khandaani Shafakhana", Sonakshi will be seen essaying the role of Baby Bedi who inherits a sex clinic from her uncle.
The actress is happy that she is receiving appreciation from her female as well as male fans for taking up this issue. "The kind of response I have been receiving from my fans, especially boys, is quite surprising in a good way. I hope we can make some difference in the society through our film," she said.
The film stars Badshah, Varun Sharma, Annu Kapoor, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Nadira Babbar and Priyansh Jora.
"Khandaani Shafakhana", produced by Bhushan Kumar, Mahaveer Jain, Mrighdeep Singh Lamba and Divya Khosla Kumar, is slated for release on August 2.
The actor generated speculation after the trending hashtag, and soon revealed in a video that this was for a new make-up range by MyGlamm, which allowed her to be "camera ready anytime", the brand said.
"Using a prison mug shot as the main campaign image to launch a makeup product is unlike any other beauty campaign I have seen."
"Usually, it is pretty much standard -- look pretty, pose, look happy. I'm happy to be the range's face because I get to do something as cool as this," Sonakshi said in a statement.
The new cosmetic line POSE, comprising of blush duos, highlighter duos, setting powder, bronzer duos, banana powder and 20 lightweight lipsticks, claims to cater to the Indian skin tones.
It has been launched online and in major stores.
Going to Mars is about as much of a challenge as chomping on a Mars chocolate bar -- at least, that's the impression "Mission Mangal" gives you. Akshay Kumar's latest ode to the nation prioritises the need to match the feel-good spirit of an extended holiday weekend, so much so it misses out on setting up the drama and thrill of a scientific feat that is nothing short of historic for India.
"Mission Mangal" packs in essential masala. There is a pleasant undercurrent of humour all along. Director Jagan Shakti and his battery of co-screenwriters (R. Balki, Nidhi Singh Dharma and Saketh Kondiparthi) sets up smaller subplots of melodrama within the basic storyline to describe the personal lives of its protagonists -- in rather unnecessary detail. For the lack of a genuine antagonist in the real-life sage it is based on, the script invents a ‘villain' too -- by way of Dalip Tahil's NASA-returned Indian expert at ISRO, who sneers and snarls at every ‘desi' effort by Akshay Kumar and team to do something original without foreign aid.
Notably, for a film that narrates a national achievement, "Mission Mangal" is lower on the jingoism quotient than many of Akshay's past odes to the nation. Of course, there is a line by our hero advocating why Make In India matter in ISRO's scheme of things, but the idea is kept to a minimum.
Director Jagan Shakti maintains pace through most of the first half, as the story begins at a point where an ambitious ISRO project goes kaput. Rakesh Dhawan (Akshay Kumar), a maverick genius scientist who was in charge of the project, takes blame, although it was project director Tara Shinde (Vidya Balan) who was actually at fault.
Following the failure, Rakesh is shunted to a project no one believes will ever take off -- in a country that was still struggling at that point to send a rocket to moon, Rakesh is asked to head India's mission to Mars. Only, despite the odds stacked up against the project, Tara is confident that Mars may not be a distant dream, after all. She manages to convince Rakesh the project could actually take off, with the right team and execution.
That build-up portion of the script intertwines personal lives of Tara and her team with the account of the mission itself. So, Eka Gandhi, the propulsion control expert (Sonakshi Sinha), starts off as a youngster who hates most things Indian and looks for the first chance to get away to NASA. Spacecraft anatomy designer Neha Siddiqui (Kirti Kulhari) is fighting social ostracism owing to her minority status. The navigation expert Krittika Agarwal (Taapsee Pannu) must, as a devoted wife, tend to her armyman husband when he is injured in the line of duty. Varsha Pillai (Nithya Menen), the satellite designer, battles her mother-in-law's taunts at home for not being able to bear a child. Tara herself has her days full, balancing career, home, husband and two teenage kids.
Too much footage is allotted to each of these sub-stories, which distracts from what the film was essentially supposed to be a gripping drama of an overwhelming achievement. ISRO's Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM) was accomplished in record time, using minimal funds and skeletal infrastructure. It had to be realised in one attempt, as the reluctant space organisation was not too keen to shell out any more funds for the project. The gravity of such an achievement never really comes across.
To their credit, Jagan Shakti and his co-writers have managed to keep the narrative lucid despite the fact that they were dealing with a storyline that is heavily technical. The cinematography and special effects are functional, though a lot of the melodrama could have been edited.
For Akshay Kumar, this is a very different nationalist hero. For a change, he is only a catalyst to the epic achievement. Despite enjoying maximum footage, Akshay is actually letting the female protagonists push the plot. In fact, it is interesting to note how, in a particular Metro Rail sequence when he is tipsy after a pub-hopping spree, the macho Rakesh is protected from a bunch of ruffians by the gang of girls.
"Mission Mangal" is a feel-good toast girl power, and the fact is an advantage for its female cast. Vidya Balan, Sonakshi Sinha, Taapsee Pannu, Kirti Kulhari and Nithya Menen get well-crafted roles that fit seamlessly to give the film its multistarrer entirety.
Sharman Joshi and veteran National Award-winning Kannada actor HG Dattatreya complete the team of scientists who made MOM possible. They get the odd scene to shine, providing able support to the lead cast.
The cast overall remains a big draw in a film that somehow becomes mediocre somewhere down its runtime, despite its subject. "Mission Mangal" ends up an ordinary film about an extraordinary feat.

Salman Khan on his twitter handle recently shared a video in which he is seen shaking legs with the dancing-icon Prabhu Deva and his Dabangg co-actor Kiccha Sudeep along with producer Sajid Nadiadwala. The team of director, actor and producer are seen moving legs and body on one of the iconic songs of Prabhu Deva- Urvasi.
Wanted actor Salman captioned the video "Dance class from the master himself" and tweeted ...

Seeing Salman dancing is worth watching!!
A few days back, Salman even had shared a video on his Instagram handle... It was quite adorable to watch Salman dancing with his mother Salma Khan. Salman captioned the post, "Mom is saying band karo yeh naach ganna"..
We hope that the Dabangg star will keep sharing such adorable videos and pics on social media to which fans can access easily and learn about the personal life of our favourite actor.
Filmmaker, ace choreographer and director Prabhu Deva helmed Dabaang 3 and over 60% shooting for the film has reportedly ended. Salman Khan will be playing the cop character Chulbul Pandey while Sonakshi Sinha will portray as his wife Rajjo. Arbaaz Khan will be seen as Chulbul’s brother Makhanchand Pandey or Makkhi and Mahie Gill as Makkhi’s wife Nirmala. Kannada actor Kichcha Sudeep is playing the antagonist character in the third installment of Dabangg.
Besides Dabangg 3, Salman Khan will be seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Inshallah.
Salman Never Thought Sudeep Would Say Yes
Recently during an interview, the Kannada actor said that the entire team of “Dabangg 3” including the Bollywood superstar Salman Khan never thought that he will be saying yes to the project. However, Sudeep proved all of them wrong by giving a nod to the project.
While discussing how the project came to him, Sudeep says, “The credit goes to Sohailji for “Dabangg 3. He proposed everybody about me and everyone thought Sudeep will refuse. Salman sir also thought the same, thinking he is a big actor what will he come and do. But later the team, including Salman Sir approached me. Prabhu Deva Sir came to Mysore to narrate the story and he hand beautifully written that role.”
The actor further adds that after hearing 50% of the story he said okay because he was getting to work with a very big personality. Sudeep also cleared that he accepted the film not because it would serve as a launchpad for him in Mumbai but only because he would get to work with Salman.
“He Is A Blessing To Have In Life,” Says Sudeep About Salman
While describing his experience of working with the “Kick” actor Sudeep said it is a blessing to have him in life as he allows only very few people in his close quarters and one must enjoy the process. The “Pehelwaan” actor further added that very rarely you get an opportunity to meet people with such achievements.

It was Salman Khan who brought her in movies and he was the one who motivated her to lose weight. Today, Sonakshi weighs 60 kgs having lost 30 kgs of weight. But it was not an easy journey for Sonakshi who had a history of binging on junk foods and no-workout lifestyle.
Sonakshi starts are a day with a cup of warm water, honey and lime juice on an empty stomach, an age-old method to flush out toxins, improve bowel movement and lose weight. She eats low-fat milk, cereal, and a whole-wheat toast to ensure that her body gets the required number of complex carbohydrates, potassium, calcium, and dietary fiber.
At lunch, she has vegetable curry, salad, and chapattis. In between, she drinks green tea and eats fresh fruits. Dinner comprises of fish or chicken or dal-all sources of lean protein along with the mixed veggie curry. Sonakshi makes sure that she eats after every 2 to 3 hours and never eats carbs after 6 pm. That is not all! The “Lootera” actress eats weight-gain food in moderation to maintain a fabulous body.
Apart from following dietary restrictions, Sonakshi hits the gym at least twice a week to lose fat, and build strength and lean muscle mass. Currently, she is getting trained under celebrity fitness trainer Yasmin Karachiwala. Her workout regime is a mix of cardio, functional training, weight training, spinning, hot yoga, and playing tennis or swimming.

Fatshamed Both By People And Industry
It is a known fact that Sonakshi Sinha had no intention of entering Bollywood and just wanted to pursue a career in the fashion industry. It was Salman Khan who asked Sonakshi to lose weight and offered her a role in “Dabangg.” But during these fashion shows, while the “Lootera” actress wanted to walk on the ramp, she was told to handle the lights because she was overweight.
Even during her school days boys used to bully her a lot and although Sonakshi did give them back with full energy, she was hurt by this attitude. After losing 30 kgs for “Dabangg” Sonakshi became a star but the fat-shaming continued with a renowned filmmaker replacing her just 10 days before the start of the shooting because he wanted a slim and trim girl to play the lead.
During the interview, Sonakshi also revealed how it is not very easy handling the tag of star-kid as there is a lot of pressure on them. The gutsy actress had to face serious struggles including being replaced by leading filmmakers after being almost confirmed for the movies.
But despite all these problems and struggles Sonakshi has managed to grow in the industry on her own terms and successfully carve a niche for her. For everyone battling obesity and overweight Sonakshi Sinha is a big inspiration.
Here’s What Sonam Called ‘Aishwarya’
The actress is known to speak her mind without any filter and these remarks have always created quite a storm on the internet. But these controversial statements have also shown how ‘bindhas’ is her attitude. The “Khoobsurat” actress triggered controversy a couple of years ago when she called Aishwarya Rai Bachchan ‘Aunty.”
According to reports when Sonam replaced the “Miss World” in a popular cosmetic brand she was quoted saying that I should call Ash her aunty since the latter has worked with her dad Anil Kapoor. Later on, Sonam defended herself saying she was misunderstood.
When Karan Johar asked Sonam on his “Koffee With Karan” what advise she would like to give to Deepika Padukone, the actress came out with a shocking reply. The “Aisha” actress said, “Create your style. Katrina Kaif is herself. She does not try to fit into a mold, which I respect a lot.”Sonam further said that Deepika is a good girl gone bad and has an over-enthusiastic PR team.
Those were the times when Ranbir Kapoor had dumped Deepika for Katrina Kaif and the “Padmavat” actress was going through a rough patch in her life. Although these statement by Sonam were somewhere near the truth, they were badly timed and rubbed Deepika in a wrong way.
From calling Sonakshi Sinha foolish to suggesting Parineeti Chopra to stop wearing tight clothes, Sonam K Ahuja has triggered controversies many times with her remarks.
"Names of few people from #SonakshiSinha's family: Shatrughan (Dad), Luv (Brother), Kush (Brother), Ram (Uncle), Lakshman (Uncle), Bharat (Uncle), name of her father's residence: RAMAYANA. Now watch this video to know why #YoSonakshiSoDumb is trending," tweeted a user.
In the video, Sonakshi is seen on the hotseat with Rajasthani artisan Ruma Devi, facing show host Amitabh Bachchan. He asks: "According to Ramayana, Hanuman fetched the Sanjeevani herb for whom?" Sonakshi is visibly confused and uses a lifeline.
One Twitter user wrote: "#YoSonakshiSoDumb She did the justice with her movie title Kalank."
Another wrote: "Don't judge book by its cover. Still shocked even my non hindu friends could tell the answer #YoSonakshiSoDumb."
"For those who don't have the background of this trend. Sonakshi Sinha took helpline for this question but the Mother of Irony is that her Father name is Shatrughan Sinha, Brother names Luv & Kush and she lives in Bungalow called Ramayana. #YoSonakshiSoDumb," wrote another Twitter user.
One called her "dumbest ever actress", another named her "Booty without brain".
Another wrote: "Just look at this #sonakshisinha said in the first place its sita and then she said Ram. And Lakshmann ji be like #YoSonakshiSoDumb".
Some even compared her to Alia Bhatt, who got labelled as a dumb actress after her appearance on a chat show.
"Who is most dumb female actress in Bollywood? Me: Alia Bhatt. Amit Ji: #YoSonakshiSoDumb."
"Bharat", co-starring Katrina Kaif, saw Salman sporting different looks in a role that ages from a young guy to an old man in the story. It has minted $ 10.71 million (over Rs 75.99 crore) outside India, according to "timesofindia.indiatimes.com".
The film had also helped Salman add another feather to his cap. "It becomes back-to-back 14 centuries for Salman Khan," film and trade expert Girish Johar said when "Bharat" cruised past Rs 100 crore mark in India.
"Gully Boy", India's official entry official for the 92nd Academy Awards, is next on the list of Bollywood's biggest grossers abroad this year. Zoya Akhtar's film raked in $ 10.25 million (over Rs 72.73 crore). Starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt, the film was inspired by the lives of rapper Naved Shaikh, popular by his stage name Naezy, and rapper Divine (Vivian Fernandes). It was a winner in the home market, too.
'Josh' for Vicky Kaushal's "Uri - The Surgical Strike" has been high outside India too. The film has earned $ 7.46 million (over Rs 52.92 crore). "Kalank" has surprisingly made it to the fourth spot with $ 7.17 million (over Rs 50.87 crore) earning. Although the film, starring Madhuri Dixit, Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Sonakshi Sinha and Sanjay Dutt, minted Rs 21.60 crore on its first day in April, it slipped down the charts quickly in India.
The Akshay Kumar-Vidya Balan starrer "Mission Mangal", celebrating women power, grabs the fifth position. It earned $ 7.10 million (over Rs 50.38 crore).
"Kabir Singh", the biggest domestic hit of the year, is actually at number six in the global charts. The film has earned $ 6.95 million (Rs over Rs 49.31 crore) in the international market.
"Total Dhamaal" with $ 6.53 million (over Rs 46.33 crore), "Super 30" with $5.19 million (over Rs 36.82 crore), "Badla" with $ 4.68 million (over Rs 33.2 crore) and "Chhichhore" with $ 3.5 million (over Rs 24.83 crore) are the other releases of the year that make it to the top 10 global list as of now.
What ties "Vicky Donor", "Shubh Mangal Saavdhan", "Lust Stories", "Khandaani Shafakhana" or Rajkummar's upcoming "Made In China"? It is the presence of sex -- which is not used as a tool for titillation anymore, but woven into the storyline to take forward the plot.
Sex is no longer a hush-hush subject, and that is one of the main reasons behind the increasing visibility of such subjects.
"The Internet revolution and convergence has brought this revolution. Indians are now exposed to world cinema at the click of a button. It was never the case before. Before Internet, everything was controlled by the censor board, and because there was so much of hush-hush element around it, it was specifically used in films to promote them," SMM Ausaja, a film historian, told IANS.
"That's why we had so many B-grade movies, where people were assured of titillation. This can't be the case now. You can't use sex as an element to bring the audience into the theatre. You need to integrate it in the story, and it should seem natural," he added.
There was a time when Bollywood films were laced with provocative steps and suggestive lyrics, with actresses in skimpy clothes and extra focus on the cleavage, thighs or waist as an attempt to add oomph. Some resorted to showing the woman in a wet sari, or stretching a simple lip lock scene. Not to forget the visual metaphors denoting physical intimacy between hero and heroine -- be it the brushing of flowers or dimming of lights.
Bollywood's affair with sex has evolved. It has become mature and meaningful.
If Ayushmann Khurrana has brought issues such as sperm donation and erectile dysfunction to the spotlight with Shoojit Sircar's "Vicky Donor" and "Shubh Mangal Saavdhan" respectively, then there is also actor Vicky Kaushal bringing the plight of a husband who is unable to satisfy his wife onto the screen in "Lust Stories".
Rajkummar Rao will be seen trying to improve people's sex-life in "Made In China", as a businessman selling aphrodisiac. Actor Boman Irani plays a sexologist in the film, which is presented by Dinesh Vijan in association with Jio Studios.
"I haven't visited a sex clinic yet, but if I have to, there's no shame in it. It shouldn't be treated as a taboo," Rajkummar said at the trailer launch of the film.
Sonakshi Sinha surprised the audience when she decided to essay the owner of a sex clinic in "Khandaani Shafakhana" this year.
Filmmakers are adding humour to make such stories lighter for consumption.
"When you present a subject like this, which can be dicey, talking about in a humorous way lets people understand it better. Why should we think of sex as a taboo, or go 'haww' at a mere mention? It is a part of life," Sonakshi said, adding that it feels nice to know that "you are trying to get people to think or talk about about something which is not spoken about" with a film.
The audience is also accepting themes pertaining to sex with no hesitation.
"The audience has matured. For the youngsters, who go and watch movies, sex is not a taboo and that is why it can be woven into the storyline," trade expert Vinod Mirani told IANS.
"Bold and well-presented subjects are accepted. Sex is not a taboo anymore. It's a part of normal life," explained trade analyst Amod Mehra, pointing out: "At the same time, there are certain series on OTT platforms that cross lines at times. That's an issue, which is alarming."
Film and trade expert Girish Johar feels "the entire country is opening up and becoming mature".
"Talking about sex and its porjection as a subject in films is no longer a taboo. There was a time when the word was taken in a hushed tone. Not any longer," he said, praising Ayushmann for taking up subjects that used to be brushed under the carpet for many years.
Bollywood has clearly opened the window for sex talk. It is to be seen how many get on with it.

The metamorphosis of Sonakshi has been inspiring who has now taken to various forms of workouts and body toning exercises to fit in all types of roles. Recently the diva attended a function in which she was wearing hot and ethnic sarees in pink.

The “Dabangg” franchise is renowned for its Chulbul Pandey and Rajjo Pandey played with great finesse by Salman and Sonakshi respectively. The third installment of the franchise will soon hit the theaters in December this year and fans of these two stars are eagerly awaiting the release of “Dabangg 3” which also launches Saiee Manjrekar.

Despite being her first movie, Sonakshi played Rajjo in the first installment of the “Dabangg” franchise with ease and made the character unforgettable. Post the release of “Dabangg” Sonakshi worked with many lead actors including Ajay Devgan, Akshay Kumar, Shahid Kapoor, Ranveer Singh but is yet to get that special role which will establish her in the league of the younger lot including Alia Bhatt and Shraddha Kapoor.
Hopefully, the “Dabangg 3” release will ensure many more opportunities for the actress who loves to work in versatile roles and is ready to transform herself to meet the demands of the character.
Similarly, in the sequel Dabangg-2, it was 'Mere Photo Ko Sine Se yaar Chipkale Saiyan Fevicol Se' featuring the gorgeous Kareena Kapoor Khan which swept the audience off their feet.
For Dabangg 3, Bhaijaan is here with something that will fill excitement among his fans. It's time for Salman Khan to rock the floors with 'Munna Badnaam Hua'.
As fans are aware that Bhaijaan Salman is prepping for the third sequel of the action-comedy cop drama series, everyone is eagerly waiting for the updates. The Sultan actor keeps on updating about the movie through his social media handles. While his fans have got a glance of the movie posters, star cast, and the storyline, now the makers have released one of the songs from Dabangg 3.

T-Series released the Mp3 version of the new song that synchronises with the 2010 hit number Munni Badnaam.

Incidentally, the “Dabangg” actor has not only acted but also sung this song titled “Yu Karke.” It is a naughty song in which a special sound is made through lips all through the song. The typical Bhaijan style hatke song is amusing as well as entertaining and the special sound made by the singers makes it all the more unique. Recently when a video of the making of this song surfaced, fans were overjoyed to see Salman making those sounds and enjoying it during the rehearsals in the recording studio.

Salman Needs A Big Hit Now
His last release “Bharat” was a good movie and did well at the box-office but it was surely not an overwhelming success just like “War” of Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff or “Housefull 4” of Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, and Bobby Deol. Lately, major hits have been delivered by Akshay Kumar, Kartik Aaryan, Hrithik Roshan, Ayushmann Khurana, Vicky Kaushal, and Rajkummar Rao.
On the other hand, two of the three Khans, Shah Rukh and Aamir have been struggling to get back their glory. Salman Khan is the only one who continues to enjoy stardom and has a massive following even now. That is why Salman's success of “Dabangg 3” is very important as it will establish that he is still in demand and irrespective of entry of new stars and their success, Salman’s superstardom still reigns supreme. “Dabangg 3” releases on 20 December this year and is expected to be a very big hit. All the previous movies from this franchise have been super hits and have made the characters of Chulbul Panday and Rajjo iconic.
Salman is known for launching new faces in the film industry. The superstar launched Sonakshi Sinha through “Dabangg” and now he is going to launch the daughter of Mahesh Manjrekar through “Dabangg 3.” Salman is 50+ whereas Saiee is in her early twenties. So there is a difference of almost 30 years between the two. Even then Saiee will be playing the love interest to the “Tubelight” star.
Recently during one of the promotions for “Dabangg 3,” Sonakshi Sinha made a statement that raised eyebrows of everyone around. The “Lootera” actress said that she would feel it a bit odd romancing someone of 22-year-old at the age of around 50. She was discussing how it is quite common in the Indian film industry for older male stars to consistently feature against much younger female actresses.
When she was quizzed how the age gap between male and female stars is getting bigger, Sonakshi said, "Oh wow! If you put it that way, but would you want to see Madhuri Dixit romancing Ishaan Khatter?" According to Sonakshi, Madhuri romancing the “Khaali Peeli” actor will seem a bit odd.
But when she was quizzed about Salman Khan working along with Saiee Manjrekar, the actress said, "I don't know. I have not thought of it that way." She further added that someone should ask bhaijan as to why he continues to romance younger girls and what he eats that keeps him looking so young.
