While schools in Odisha are set to reopen for physical classes from July 26th, a decision regarding resumption of hostel facilities at the educational institutions is yet to be taken. Odisha School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash said that a decision with regard to reopening hostels of Adarsha Vidyalayas and other institutions with hostel facilities will be taken in due course of time.
Students seem to have eventually landed in state of perplexity following the government announcement as the Covid vaccination for the under 18 age group is yet to be launched.
The School and Mass Education Department has shared the SOPs with the directors of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, CHSE chairman and president of Board of Secondary Education, asking them to ensure the SOPs during classes.
In spite of the fact that the second wave of the pandemic is receding gradually, the Centre and state governments have reportedly decided not to allow reopening of the schools now.
