In a tragic road mishap, three persons were killed after the bike they were on had a head-on collision with a car at Subalaya Square under Dasapalla Police limits of Nayagarh district on Saturday.
All three were rushed to the local hospital where two were declared brought dead. The condition of the injured person is stated to be critical during the filing of this report.
After a long gap, the Commissionerate Police has once again launched a drive against violations including driving or riding on the wrong side, re-modeling vehicle exhausts to create noise more than the permissible limits, etc.
At least 40 passengers were inside the bus when it plunged into the Chenab River gorge, sources said.
From the AADHAR cards found at the accident spot, it was learned that they were residents of the Sana Biruahan Hata Sahi area.

The accident in Cuttack district claimed three lives. While the identities of the deceased are yet to be ascertained, they all are known to be Class 10 students.
The agitating people demanded compensation for the bereaved family.
According to eyewitnesses, the bike rider was taking a U-turn near Utkal Hospital when a speeding car hit him from behind. The car dragged the biker for at least 100 meters.
Four days after the incident, the police identified the deceased and handed over the body to Dinabandhu’s wife.
The mishap was so tragic that all three were killed on the spot.
