Putting to rest all gossip surrounding the way the final rites of two Russian nationals including lawmaker Pavel Antov were performed in Rayagada, Russian Ambassador to India Denis Alipov said nothing wrong has been done in performing the last rites of the deceased duo.

A debate erupted over their last rites which were allegedly performed in a hurry. The duo was reportedly cremated instead of being buried. A controversy had already started surrounding it.

The body was cremated at around 7 PM in the evening at Siriguda crematorium. The post-mortem was carried out at around 4PM in the evening and later the officials in haste cremated the body after sunset, reports said.

Antov died after allegedly falling from the hotel's third floor here on December 24 while Bidenov, was found dead in his room on December 22.

Crime Branch has brought the trio to Cuttack for further investigation to ascertain if Pavel Antov fell off the terrace of the hotel room or jumped and ended his life

This is the second death reported in just two days after another Russian tourist, Vladimir Videnov, was found dead in the same hotel.
