Rajamouli, who began his career as a director with a TV serial, faced challenges during his debut movie Student No: 1. The 2001 movie starred Jr NTR in the lead and emerged successful making way for the actor as well as the director for a long run. His second flick Simhadri also became a blockbuster. The list of his remarkable films includes Chatrapathi starring Prabhas, Magadheera with Ram Charan in the lead, and magnum opuses like Baahubali: The Beginning, Baahubali: The Conclusion and the recent RRR which went on to break several global records.
In his career spanning over 20 years, Rajamouli has directed only 12 flicks. The roaring success of the movies and the love showered by the fans says it all.
While fans are still celebrating the monstrous success of RRR, anticipation for his next project has spiked. A recent buzz suggests Rajamouli has teamed up with Mahesh Babu for his next which is tentatively titled SSMB29. Moreover, reports are abuzz that Hollywood actor and Thor fame Chris Hemsworth might be roped in for a cameo in the movie. Well, this has certainly elevated the excitement among all.
If the reports are anything to go by, it will be certainly exciting for Hollywood movie lovers in India as Chris has won the hearts of movie lovers with his power-packed performances as Thor-The God of Thunder.
From the beginning, Chris as Thor is presented as immensely strong. Thor’s importance is no less than Captain America, Iron Man, Hulk, or Natasha in Marvel’s cinematic universe. However, his recent flick, “Thor: Love & Thunder” failed to impress a particular section of the audience. Expressing their disappointment many went on to say that Chris as Thor couldn’t meet the expectations of the viewers.
Itishree Purohit, a huge admirer of Chris said, “Captain America, Iron Man, Hulk, and Natasha got a definitive end which was, of course, emotional for the fans. However, Thor’s conclusion in MCU with ‘Thor: Love & Thunder’ was not properly executed and quite disheartening for us. The conclusion of his character was a kind of comedy. The makers should have opted to give a definitive ending while maintaining the character’s stature.”
“In ‘Thor: Love & Thunder’ the makers failed to bring out the real personality of Thor which has been shown in the Avengers series as well as the Thor series. Being the ‘God of Thunder’ he was overpowered by many and also was made fun of which was not acceptable and defaming for Thor’s character. Even it was not understandable why Mjölnir was given to his girlfriend. A person worthy can only lift the Mjölnir. Giving it to his girlfriend shows that there is no difference between a normal human and God.” Itishree said.
Further, expressing her opinion about Chris foraying into the Indian cine industry, she went on to add, “It will be certainly exciting to see Chris in an Indian movie. But, the makers mustn’t degrade his stature by involving him in unnecessary scenes and most importantly dance and cheap romance. Chris has a huge fandom in India, and hopefully, the makers won’t dishearten them.”
Even rumours are abuzz that apart from Chris, Samuel L Jackson, who was seen as Nick in MCU, may also be seen in the Mahesh Babu starrer. Even it is speculated that Alia Bhatt might be roped in for SSMB 29 as she had a brief appearance in RRR.
If the reports are anything to go by, Rajamouli currently is busy with pre-production works. Moreover, certain reports claim that the movie will be made at a whooping budget of Rs 800 crore. Though the makers are yet to reveal the cast, reports of Chris and Samuel being a part of the movie have certainly raised expectations among all.
All need to wait for an official announcement regarding the same.
KGF 2 grabbed the second spot, just behind 'Baahubali: The Conclusion', after outranking SS Rajamouli's RRR. The Ram Charan, Jr NTR and Alia Bhatt starrer went on to become the highest-grossing Indian Cinema ever in terms of first-day collections that released on March 24. However, Yash-starrer KGF 2 went on to become the highest-grossing cinema in Hindi.
But now it seems RRR may once again retain its position at the second spot exceeding the lifetime collection of KGF 2.
Yes, after the announcement of release of RRR in Japan, such speculations have emerged and created a buzz putting fans in a fix.

As per reports, the RRR's lifetime collection stands at Rs 1139.27 crore while KGF 2's collection was Rs 1242.39 crore.
Now, speculations have been raised if the re-release of RRR overseas will help the Rajamouli flick to retain its second spot in the list of top grosser Indian cinemas with the highest box office collection and outrank the Yash-starrer.
Will RRR's re-release put KGF Chapter 2's global record in danger? Will RRR be able to retain its second spot? Well, time will raise the curtains.
Both Mani Ratnam and Rajinikanth are big names in the Southern film world and hence Ash is expected to make a big impact with her comeback movies. Also, there has been buzz that Baahubali and RRR fame SS Rajamouli will team up with the Bollywood star for his upcoming project. The famous director is working on a new movie with Mahesh Babu and is expected to start working with Jr NTR for yet another project.
Now speculations are adrift that Rajamouli might rope in the Bollywood beauty for his project with Jr NTR but nothing has been confirmed as of yet. Over the last few years, Ash has been quite choosey about her movie projects and prefers to work on restricted days so that she can give ample time to her daughter Aaradhya and family members.

The 45-seconds video takes us into the exorbitant world of 'RRR'. The makers have introduced the characters even without dialogues.
The glimpse of 'RRR' hints at the visuals and the grandeur, which is obvious in every frame. With the intensified hype around the idiosyncrasies of Ram Charan and NTR's roles, this glimpse is a great addition.
The establishment of the high-octane action sequences is achieved, as the video portrays a few goose-flesh visuals.
The makers mark the movie as the 'Pride of Indian Cinema', which is in all the ways rubber-stamped. The production values look so lavish, and the rich capture of the lens is to be lauded.
Ram Charan and NTR are to be seen in the best of their heroic versions in this upcoming movie, going by the glimpse released today.
As 'RRR' is a fictional drama surrounding the Pre-Independent era of India, both the heroes have undergone mind-blowing transformations. The concept of 'Fire and Water' is evident all the way through the video. Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt, and Olivia Morris are seen in limited spaces in the glimpse but sure make their marks.
Directed by Baahubali S.S Rajamouli, 'RRR' is produced by D.V.V Danayya on the DVV Entertainment banner and will release in 10 languages worldwide.
The magnum opus, 'RRR' stars a stellar ensemble cast of Jr. NTR, Ram Charan in the lead roles. The duo is to play Komaram Bheem and Alluri Sita Rama Raju respectively. On the other hand, Bollywood actors Ajay Devgn and Alia Bhatt are to appear in important roles. The movie also has international stars Ray Stevenson, Alison Doody, and Olivia Morris.
Slated for its mammoth release on January 7, 2022, the movie is India's one of the most-hyped entertainers. Tainted as a fictional drama with patriotic features imbibed in it, 'RRR' is expected to be a visual extravaganza.
However, before rushing to theaters to grace your eyes, know some of the interesting stuff you may have missed in all these years.
1. Rajamouli had first approached Bollywood stars Hrithik Roshan and John Abraham for the lead roles, Prabhas and Rana are playing, but both denied.
2. Rajamouli's Baahubali entered Guinness Book of World Records for its grand poster of Bahubali: The Beginning which measures more than 50,000 square feet.
3. Both Prabhas and Rana Daggubati gained enormous weight for Baahubali 2. They used to spend hours in gym and were on strict fitness regime, including diet and workout. Both the actors crossed 100-Kg weight for the movie. Besides, Prabhas used to consume 40 boiled egg white everyday.
4. The climax of Baahubali: The Conclusion alone has a reported cost of Rs 30 crore, which is higher than the total budget of many Tamil movies.
5. Anushka Shetty is the only actress to work with Rajamouli for the Second time. The director has a habit of not repeating actress from his previous movies. Vikramarkudu was Anushka’s first film with Rajamouli.
6. The waterfall scene in Bahubali-The Beginning took almost one-third of the total shooting time of the entire film.
7. Anushka Shetty got herself enrolled for a special weight loss programme in the US before the shoot of Baahubali 2 as she had gained around 20 kilos for her upcoming Telugu-Tamil bilingual Size Zero.
8. Baahubali has increases the 'pay per movie' of Tamanna Bhatia by more than double. She was getting around Rs 1.75 Crore per movie prior to her role as Avantika in the movie.
9. Prabhas postponed his marriage for Baahubali 2. The actor is likely to marry soon after the release of the movie to his rumored Bheemavaram-based ladylove.
10. Around 800 technicians were engaged for the movies by director Rajamouli.
"So happy to meet all the fans and film enthusiasts who made it to the 'Baahubali 2: The Conclusion' screening in Tokyo, Japan last night. The love for movies surpasses boundaries. Happy day," Rajamouli tweeted.
"Baahubali 2: The Conclusion" starring Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty, Tamannah Bhatia, Ramya Krishna and others, has reportedly completed its 100-day theatrical run successfully in Japan.
The film was released on December 29 last year in Japan.
Having already earned over Rs 1500 crore from its theatrical release so far, the film is continuing its golden run.
"To Rajamouli, Keeravani and the whole team of 'Baahubali 2'. Just finished watching it in Chennai. I hope it crosses Rs 2000 crore and above at the box-office," Rahman wrote on his Facebook page.
He went on to add: "You guys have opened the floodgates for south Indian cinema to the world and given it a new identity."
A story about two warring brothers for the ownership of an ancient kingdom, the film stars Rana Daggubati and Prabhas as the male protagonists.
Anushka Shetty, Tamannaah Bhatia and Ramya Krishnan played powerful supporting characters.
"Hope director S.S. Rajamouli does one film with Superstar Rajinikanth. If it happens, the record of 'Avatar' in worldwide box office will be second," Alphonse wrote on his Facebook page.
Basking in the success of "Baahubali 2: The Conclusion", Rajamouli had earlier said that if he plans to make a film in Tamil, it has to be with Rajinikanth.
Rajamouli had said it is his long-time desire to work with Rajinikanth, he doesn't have a script ready yet for their combination to materialize.
Starring Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty, Tamannaah Bhatia, Sathyaraj and Ramya Krishnan, the film is produced by Arka Media Works.
In an official statement, UV Creations, makers of the film, announced that after playing the title role in "Baahubali" franchise, Prabhas's next will be an ambitious high-tech action drama titled "Saaho".
The film's director Sujeeth also shared the title on his Twitter page on Sunday.
Talking to IANS earlier this week, Sujeeth said that a major chunk of the film's budget will be used on action sequences.
"The scale on which it is being made, a major budget will be spent on some extravagant action scenes. Although it will be a commercial outing, we are attempting something new and I would like to keep that as a surprise element," Sujeeth said.
International stuntman Kenny Bates, popular for his work on films such as "Die Hard" and "Transformers", has been brought on board.
"Kenny will be supervising the action scenes. We have already finalised locations in Abu Dhabi and some places in Europe where shooting will be done extensively. We go on the floors from the end of May," he said.
The makers also confirmed that a special teaser of "Saaho" will be attached to "Baahubali 2: The Conclusion".
The movie has music by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy. While Sabu Cyril will take care of production design, Madhie will crank the camera.
"We wanted the music to have a national appeal. We roped in Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy because they understand north as well southern sensibilities when it comes to composing music. They have also worked in the south," Sujeeth had said.
"I think ‘Baahubali' has proved it that when you're making a film for the entire nation, it is bigger than any film made in one language. You could be a filmmaker sitting in Madurai and if you have a great superhero film to make, you have the faith and confidence to make your film because there's a country of audience to watch it," Rana told IANS.
Does he feel there is sudden urge to make bigger films, especially after the announcement of Mohanlal-starrer multilingual film "The Mahabharata", to be made on a budget of Rs 1000 crore?
"I think it is amazing filmmakers have started to think big. ‘Baahubali' has given them the license to go big," he said.
In "Baahubali" franchise, Rana plays a fictional character Bhallaladeva, who locks horns over an ancient kingdom with his brother Amarendra Baahubali, played by Prabhas.
Asked if he finds surprising that a negative character vis-à-vis all the positive ones he has played so far has won him nation-wide recognition, he said: "It's a Rs 450 crore war film and it will give you far greater visibility."
"It is the biggest film in the country and even if I played any other character, it would have given me the same visibility. This is franchise cinema which is far bigger than any film that I have been part of so far," he explained.
Rana, known for being part of films such as "Leader", "Dum Maaro Dum" and "Department", says he has always been on the lookout for projects that transcended regional boundaries.
"‘Baahubali' helped me explore new avenues across borders. It has given us so much strength that even while sitting in Hyderabad, we could think of making a huge franchise-based film that will be lapped up by the entire nation. It has taught me to take content to wherever I want," he said, adding the experience of working on the country's biggest film helped him to "understand and portray a character better".
"It is because of the experience of working with finer actors and a highly talented director. Everything I have learnt from both the parts of the film will reflect on whatever I choose to do next," he said.
"Baahubali: The Beginning" had a phenomenal run at the box office. It ended up as one of the biggest grossers of Indian cinema.
Is there a sense of nervousness ahead of the release of "Baahubali 2", considering part one was a huge hit?
"It is the same story audiences are going to watch after two years. It's the continuation of what happened at the end of first part. When we were making part one, we didn't realise how big it will become and where it will take us," Rana said.
"The fact that it has become a brand and has been accepted even internationally, gives you so much more strength to make a greater part two. Ultimately, everything that we have made in this film is bigger than the first part," he added.
Talking about "Baahubali 2", Rana said things got easier while working on this project.
"When we were doing the first part, it was our first attempt in the war genre and everything was new to us. None of us even knew how everything that we are shooting will look in the end with visual effects. There were challenges every single day and it was a struggle to address them," Rana said.
"Though part two was a physically taxing film in every which way, what we did here was we didn't make the same mistakes we made in part one. We had bigger budget to shoot, thanks to the success of first part," he said.
"Baahubali 2...", which also stars Prabhas, Anushka Shetty, Tamannaah Bhatia, Sathyaraj and Ramya Krishnan, is slated for worldwide release on Friday.
In "Baahubali 2: The Conclusion", Ajay plays the role of a dacoit.
"Even though it's a small role, the time spent with Rajamouli sir on the sets is equivalent to going to a film school. Working with him has been rewarding. You can learn so much even if you spend a few hours with him," Ajay told IANS.
Excited about being part of one of India's biggest motion pictures, he said he can't wait to see himself on the screen.
"To see myself as part of the country's most anticipated film is the biggest achievement of my career so far. I play a dacoit in Anushka's kingdom and very excited to know how audiences will receive me," he said.
The actor will next be seen in Tamil film "Thappu Thanda".
Meanwhile, "Baahubali 2: The Conclusion" is slated for worldwide release on April 28. It also stars Rana Daggubati, Prabhas, Tamannaah Bhatia, Anushka Shetty, Ramya Krishnan and Sathyaraj.
It is reported that the actress is taking daily classes to learn the language. “It is a challenge, yes, I can’t deny that. Telugu is a tough language to learn. But it’s a very expressive language. I want to understand the nuances of the language, why certain words are pronounced the way they are, and what they convey. Only then will I be able to express my character’s feelings,” said Alia in her statement to Deccan Chronicle.
Alia is breaking into a sweat over learning Telugu. “Believe me, these days an achievement for me is when I can learn and say a whole line in Telugu,” she added.
Besides, responding to her venture with Rajamouli, Alia said that she always wanted to work with three directors- Karan Johar, Sanjay Leela Bhansali and SS Rajamouli- and she has now achieved that feat. While she was launched by Karan, she currently has projects with Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Rajamouli.
Prabhas has shared a pic of him with Baahubali director SS Rajamouli, Anushka Shetty and Rana Daggubati on this Instagram handle.
Prabhas took to Instagram to share the news and wrote, "It's a #RoyalReunion in London with my #Baahubali team! Can't wait to experience the LIVE rendition of @baahubalimovie score at the @royalalberthall this evening. @ssrajamouli @shobuy_ @ranadaggubati #Anushka "
Baahubali: The Beginning and Baahubali: The Conclusion shattered box office records and set high standards for the Indian film industry.
After the epic series of Baahubali, SS Rajamouli has begun working on his next ‘RRR’ starring Ram Charan and NTR Jr. The movie, which is reportedly a period drama on India's freedom fighters, also stars Bollywood actors Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn.
Will Rajamouli Replace Alia?
According to reports, the Baahubali director was keen to start the production of RRR by June end. But somehow that does not seem to be working out as coronavirus pandemic continues to affect the country. The strict regulations that have been made mandatory by the government also are going to make the shooting difficult.
Insider sources have revealed that post the death of the Kedarnath actor; Rajamouli even received some threat calls asking the director to drop Alia from RRR. Although he is not the one to give in to such threats, as a director if Alia’s presence is going to affect the success of the movie at the box-office then he may think twice about continuing with the Raazi actress.
Even then it is not going to be easy for Rajamouli to take that decision because of Alia’s deep connection with Karan Johar. It should be noted that Dharma Productions backed the director with its big budget for Baahubali.
Hence in a way replacing Alia could be a big decision for Rajamouli, one which he may not be able to take in haste.
Meanwhile, Alia Bhatt is currently in Mumbai and will have to shift to Gandipeth for shooting her part. However, it seems due to the current situation she is not ready to move out of Mumba
