Throwing light on the re-hike in edible bulb prices across the State, General Secretary of Federation of All Odisha Traders' Association, Sudhakar Panda said, "The passage of Citizenship Amendment Bill which led to protests massively disrupted transport operations. This has reduced onion supply to Odisha. This apart, a few places in onion producing States received rainfall for two days, as such production was hit."
"At present, onion price per kilo is hovering around Rs 90-100. The rates will again become stable in a matter of day or two. Prices will probably to come down to Rs 80/kg again once onion stock reaches mandis," added Panda.
As per reports, the traders' association is likely to meet Odisha Finance Minister Niranjan Pujari today for a discussion in this regard.
