The husband of the accused’s sister-in-law was shifted to Cuttack as his condition deteriorated.
The matter came to light after the Jagannath Temple Police (JTP) personnel recovered an empty donation box from the backside of Nrusingha temple. The JTP has handed over the donation box to Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA).

SJTA has also warned that stern action will be taken in case of a violation of the order. The temple administration has further stated that alternative arrangements will be made if the order is not carried out.
Around a five-foot wide hole has been created due to the caving in of the road.

Bowing to the increasing demands from all quarters, the district administration of Puri on Monday reopened the western gate or Paschima Dwara of Lord Jagannath Temple in the pilgrim town. Local residents of Puri are being allowed to enter the 12th century shrine complex through special barricade installed at the gate by producing their identity cards.
The local residents have to produce their ID cards supporting their resident to access the temple through Paschima Dwara, sources informed.
Luckily, the children didn’t fall into the river and their lives were saved.
Taking the emotional aspect of Puri residents with the Lord, another door of Srimandir should be opened for them besides ‘Singhadwara, tweeted Pattnaik.
With the demand for reopening of all ‘Dwaras’ (gates) of Puri Srimandir gaining momentum, the incident has evoked sharp reactions among the devotees and servitors.
It is pertinent to mention here that at present devotees are only allowed inside Puri Jagannath Temple through the gate near Singhadwara. As a result, there is usually a huge rush and devotees have to wait for long hours to gain entry into the shrine.
The bench has directed the concerned department of the Odisha government to remove the 50 ft dumping yard covering eight acres of the area by December 31, 2025.
While Lord Balabhadra will be adorned with ‘Nila Chita’, Lord Jagannath and Devi Subhadra will be decked up in diamond Chita and ‘Manikya Chita’ respectively.
The Committee also decided to provide Mahaprasad at Uttaradwara by Mahasuara Nijog.
