A day after being arrested in a PMLA case, Jharkhand mining secretary Pooja Singhal was suspended from the Indian Administrative Services (IAS).
IAS officer and Jharkhand Mines Secretary Pooja Singhal was on Wednesday arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) after her second day of questioning in connection with the ongoing probe of Prevention of Money Laundering case pertaining to alleged embezzelment of MNREGS funds.
On Tuesday, Singhal, who is also the Jharkhand Mining Secretary, was grilled for hours at the ED's Ranchi zonal office. The probe agency is also scanning all her properties.
The IAS officer will be questioned at ED's Ranchi based Zonal office in connection with the cash, amounting to over Rs 19 crore, recovered from Kumar's residence, which allegedly belongs to her.
