According to official sources, the special session, which also includes consideration and possible passage of four bills, will continue till September 22 and is likely to be held in the new Parliament building.

According to government sources, for the special Parliament session, rehearsal was done for one day in the old building and two days in the new building. 

The special session of Parliament called by the Centre to commemorate the 'Amrit Kaal' has once again raised the hopes of supporters of women's reservation.

The Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita Bill, 2023 will replace the Indian Penal Code; the Bhartiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita Bill, 2023 will replace the Criminal Procedure Code, 1898 and the Indian Evidence Act, 1872 will be replaced by the Bharatiya Sakshya Bill, 2023.
