People of nine panchayats of Swabhiman Anchal under the Chitrakonda block of the district will cast vote and elect their representatives on February 24.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) brought forth the issue of OBC candidature once again on Thursday following the release of the final list of candidates who will contest the three tier Panchayat polls in Odisha.

The election is almost over for BJD candidate Kalpana Pradhan from Ambabhona Block Zone-2 in Bargarh district who is all set to be declared as the winner of the ZP unopposed.
“I filed nomination from my village, but the Block Development Officer (BDO) rejected my nomination stating I am unable to read and write,” alleged Sabar. “I can read and write using Braille which is an internationally accepted language for visually impaired persons,” he added.
However, this will be the final chance for the candidates to file their nominations for the forthcoming Panchayat polls. If there are still some places with no nominations, the State government will select the Sarpanchs and Samiti members for those seats
