Amidst the threat of ‘Omicron’ variant of Covid-19 in the state, the Odisha Health Services Director, Bijay Mohapatra on Thursday informed about the steps taken by the state government to tackle the spread.
Amidst the threat of a third wave of Covid-19 owing to the detection of new variant ‘Omicron’, Odisha Health Services Director, Bijay Mohapatra on Wednesday (Dec 22) explained the parameters to be followed to impose containment and restrictions.
In a major development, State Health Services Director Bijay Mohapatra informed that severity of disease after the Omicron infection is very low.
The Odisha Health Services Director, Bijay Mohapatra on Saturday (Dec 18) said that the new variant of Covid-19, called ‘Omicron’ is highly transmissible in nature. However, Mohapatra also informed that no data has emerged till date regarding the efficacy of vaccines or the mortality rate of the new variant.
Amidst the threat of the new variant of Covid-19, called ‘Omicron’, Odisha Health Services Director, Bijay Mohapatra on Tuesday (Nov 30) informed that the technical team is inspecting the same as per NCDC (National Centre For Disease Control) & CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) guidelines.
After the Odisha School and Mass Education Minister, Samir Das, announced the decision to gradually reopen schools, Odisha Health Services Director, Bijay Mohapatra backed the government’s decision. Mohapatra on Saturday (Nov 6), said that since the Covid-19 cases are gradually decreasing, the schools should definietly reopen in the state.
The Covid-19 pandemic has turned into an endemic and thus, the cases in the state will never be zero. Odisha Health Services Director, Bijay Mohapatra revealed this on Monday (Oct 25).
In view of the prevailing Covid19 situation in the state, Odisha Health Services Director, Bijay Mohapatra has warned people to be careful during the festive season. Speaking about the rising R-value over last two days, Mohapatra said that there are other two parameters, which are severity and rate of hospitalisation.
