Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday asked forest department officials to prepare an integrated plan for significant reduction in forest fire incidents.

While the last date to file the e-PAR (self-appraisal) online through Human Resource Management System (HRMS) portal was April 26, the deadline has now been extended to May 31.

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday handed down compulsory retirement to six more State government officials accused of corruption and inefficiency.

The CGM said NABARD has sanctioned financial assistance of Rs 840 crore for 9 mega piped water supply projects aimed at providing safe drinking water at doorstep to about 17 lakh rural population in Odisha.

The Odisha government, in its bid to ensure 100 per cent Aadhaar coverage, has decided to enrol newborns, right after they are born in hospitals.

Taking stringent action for ensuring zero corruption in government offices, the State government ordered compulsory retirement to the officials who include three Executive Engineers, a Police Inspector, a former Development Authority and Additional Supply Inspector

So far the State government has sent as many as 151 officers on compulsory retirement on charges of corruption.

With this, the number of corrupt officials either dismissed or sent on mandatory retirement has gone up to 146 in the State.

Vinod Kumar has been dismissed from service after corruption charges were proved against him, said a statement released by the Odisha Chief Minister's Office (CMO).

Raising objection over the proposal to change Rule 6 (1), which deals with Central deputation of IAS officers, the Odisha government’s General Administration department has reportedly shot off a letter to the Centre.   

Several Paika organisations demonstrated in front of the Raj Bhawan in Bhubaneswar on Thursday protesting the rejection of Odisha’s tableau at the Republic Day Parade in New Delhi this year.

These infrastructure projects will play a key role in supporting the rural economy by improving the livelihoods of people, the CGM said.
