The BJP alleged that despite being an electricity-surplus state, the tariff in Odisha is on an increasing trend. The saffron party also alleged that the distribution company, Tata Power is levying more tariffs on the public to cover operational losses.

Behera informed this while replying to a question by MLA Subash Panigrahi in Odisha Assembly. As per Behera, the rest of the amount, Rs 124.94 crore was spent from the State budget.

Raising the drivers' strike issue during the zero hour, Congress leader Narasingha Mishra said transport services have come to a standstill across the state due to the protest of the drivers.
