Though gatherings will be prohibited during the night curfew, some exemptions have been granted.

While the traders welcomed the decision aimed at curbing the COVID menace, they also demanded assurance from the government to not clamp complete shutdown ahead which will push their livelihood at stake once again.

The Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) has listed down the activities on which the night curfew restrictions will not be applicable.

Meanwhile, various state governments have announced curbs to stem the worsening situation due to the Omicron variant. The night curfew has been imposed in Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Delhi, Karnataka, Assam, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana.

Delhi has so far detected 79 cases of new Covid variant Omicron. Of these, 23 have been discharged from the hospital, according to officials.

The Odisha government has issued guidelines for the month of November 2021.

With a view to curb the spread of Covid-19 during the festive season in Odisha, Commissionerate Police has beefed up preparations and security arrangements.

Keeping in mind the chances of large scale public gathering and congregation, the Odisha government had announced extended night curfew in the twin cities Bhubaneswar & Cuttack.

While talking to reporters on the sidelines of a presser on Saturday, Priyadarshi said that adequate measures will be taken to ensure that the night curfew restrictions are strictly followed for a period of 10 days till October 20, 2021.
