An anti-terror probe agency spokesperson said that the NIA was in the process of examining the data contained in the mobile phones, laptops and hard discs seized during the searches.

NIA has identified the accused as Siyed Nabeel Ahmad who is the Ameer of the organisation in Thrissur, Kerala.

The accused, who had been on the run and hiding out at various places in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu for the past several weeks, had planned to escape abroad by using forged & fraudulent documents with Nepal as a transit point.

A senior NIA official said that the accused was identified as Kasif Khan, a resident of Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh.

The raid was conducted on the house of arrested accused Shamil Saquib Nachan, an alleged member of an ISIS sleeper cell, at Padgha in Thane in Maharashtra.

He was produced before a special PMLA court. The NIA sought custodial remand. The court allowed the move.

On Friday, the prison authorities had launched a probe after Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chief Yasin Malik, who is undergoing life sentence in a terror funding case, was taken to Supreme Court without following standard operating procedure.

The arrested individual has been identified as Faizan Ansari a.k.a. Faiz.

The accused, Arif Abubakar Shaikh alias Arif Bhaijaan, was earlier arrested in the case registered by the NIA on February 3, 2022.

Deepak Sharma alias Khinmaung of Myanmar, Suraj Jasiwal of Manipur and Shaikhom Bruce Meetei also of Manipur were charge-sheeted. Sharma has been additionally charged under the Foreigners Act.

The raids were conducted in the three districts of Anantnag, Shopian and Pulwama in the Kashmir valley.  During the searches, the NIA seized several digital devices containing massive incriminating data.

Prior to Abhijeet’s arrest, the STF had arrested Pathanisamant Lenka, the alleged mastermind of fake SIM cards and OTP sharing scam.

The official said that a total of five locations, one in Darbhanga and two in Patna (all Bihar), one in Surat (Gujarat), and one in Bareilly (Uttar Pradesh), were raided.

Another reason for this association was the need for sophisticated weapons that were not available in India.

The accused was identified as Anandi Paswan alias Anand Paswan (46). The NIA said that he has more than five criminal cases registered against him in various police stations of Bihar.
