As per reports, a few local residents passing by the road last night, heard the screams of the baby girl and rushed to rescue her.
Soon after the girl was rescued, she was admitted to the Sishu Bhawan in the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) while her condition is stated to be critical.
A written complaint was also filed at the DHH Police Aid Post in this regard following which the officials reached the hospital and initiated an investigation into the matter.

As per sources, the woman Masuri Singh who was staying with her parents delivered a dead baby boy when she had gone to attend nature’s call in the wee hours of Wednesday. Reportedly claiming it to be stillborn, she dumped him in a nearby cow dung stockpile and returned home.
Masuri said, “Not knowing what to do with the child, I buried him. It was already dead. So I decided to bury him.”
The matter came to light when her husband Hindu Singh, who works in Kerala, returned Odisha on Thursday. When Singh went to Dhipasahi to take his wife along with him to his village Keshapada, he got to know that his wife had given birth to a child and buried him.
However, since Masuri did not reveal where she dumped the baby, police rushed to the spot after being informed and recovered the body of the newborn boy buried under a cow dung pile.
“I was staying in Kerala for the past five years and only when I reached her village to bring her back, I got to know that she has delivered and buried a child saying it was stillborn.”
While the officials have initiated an investigation into the incident, it is yet to be ascertained under what circumstances the woman buried her own newborn baby.
"The infant was wrapped in cloth and crying inconsolably," said the woman Banita Mallik who rescued the child and took her home. "As soon as I removed the cloth from her face, the little one looked at me and stretched its arms as if asking me to hold her," said Banita .
The baby is stable now and having milk, she informed. Banita's family appeared happy to receive the newborn.

According to reports, a woman from a village nearby Machhua forest had gone to the jungle for agricultural works when she heard the baby’s wail. When she followed the cries, she found the baby lying in the forest and later brought her home, sources said.
The woman then handed over the baby to her sister-in-law after an assurance that she will take care of the child.

Childline officials say the newborn baby of six days old will be kept at an adoption centre after his rescue from Mali Sahi area
"The father of the baby is a drug addict. Since his financial condition was bad, he refused to accept the baby and threatened his wife to abandon it as they have many children," said Childline Director Benudhar Senapati.
"The mother became helpless and the couple sold the baby to another woman for Rs 10,000," said Senapati adding that both buyer and seller of a baby are guilty under Section 80 and 81 of Indian Juvenile Act.
The woman who bought the baby admitted that she paid Rs 10,000 to buy the baby from the woman.
"They were about to abandon the baby. Since I have no son, I bought the baby for Rs 10,000," she said.
However, many facts relating to the incident are yet to be confirmed.
“We are inquiring into the matter and all the facts will come to the fore after the probe is over. For the time being, the baby will be taken care at an adoption center,” said a police official.
