OBC, EWS Quota After Issuance Of NEET-PG Exam Notification Not 'Changing Rules Of Game': Govt To SC

Appearing for some of the candidates, senior advocate Arvind Datar said that if the apex court intends to allow EWS reservation in NEET-AIQ this year, it should be based on Rs 2.5 lakh annual income criteria as recommended by Major Gen (retd) SR Sinho commission and not the Rs 8 lakh gross annual income limit fixed by the Centre.

NEET-PG Admissions: Counselling Has To Begin, Says SC & Reserves Order On EWS Quota

The Centre has accepted the report of a three-member panel constituted to revisit the EWS criteria. The panel, in its report, said: "Firstly, the EWS's criteria relates to the financial year prior to the year of application whereas the income criterion for the creamy layer in OBC category is applicable to gross annual income for three consecutive years."
