According to sources privy to developments, the app and web portal will provide real time information to motorists on the move, about the nearest active charging stations available on their route.
BEE is the central nodal agency for developing these softwares and work on this is expected to be completed soon, sources informed further.
Power Ministry had issued guidelines for developing these softwares in January this year.
Sources said that the mobile app and web portal providing live data on charging infrastructure will help in improving mobility services.
The government is also working at installing smart meters on electric poles at dedicated locations and make small charging stations across highways, cities and even villages.
Electric vehicle owners would be given smart cards for charging batteries of their vehicles anywhere.
BEE would be developing these chargers, which would include chargers for charging light electric vehicles like two-wheelers and three-wheelers, sources said.
According to BEE, these chargers will have a built in provision to measure and register electric energy delivered and a provision for electric vehicles' charging upon user authentication through the mobile app.
Such chargers would be mounted on electric poles in public parking spaces, sources informed further.
Police Commissioner YB Khurania informed that a number of measures for security and traffic management are being planned along with several new additions to the Dial 100 facility.
Already discussion with several stakeholders and application providers have begun for a web based application for dialling 100 for smart phone users, informed sources.
"It will be an app like 'Mo Sathi' where the citizens can download and directly contact the control room in case of emergency," said Khurania.
The new application will have a feature where the exact location of the caller can also be traced, informed sources.
"We are also planning to upgrade the GPS in PCR vans. Similarly, instead of VHF sets, efforts are on to have a more reliable and fast communication through voice, SMS & digital maps," Khurania added.
From calling the police control room directly to getting latest news and updates of Rourkela police, a user can have all information at their fingertips.
The citizen connect mobile app was inaugurated by DGP RP Sharma through video conferencing today.

Once installed, users can directly make calls to police in case of any emergency while the dedicated control room will respond to such SOS calls round the clock.
In case of emergency, a quick action team and bulk of the PCRs can be rushed to the spot to rescue the person in distress, sources said.
Residents can also know the details of the auto rickshaw drivers by entering a 4 digit code issued to registered vehicles via the mobile app.

A mobile phone user can also get the status of his/her FIR/ complain through e-mail via the mobile app which also contains important phone numbers of police officers, links of various websites and other important places within Rourkela.
Sashikant has come up with a unique app that has to be installed in a smartphone and with the help of the app, users can control the ignition system of their bike. This app is expected to reduce the possibilities of bike theft.
Being asked about the app Sashikant said, “Nowadays bike thieves easily break the lock of a vehicle to steal it. So I have come up with password locking system to level up the security of our bikes. Earlier, I had programmed a website and taking the codes from it I have developed this application.”
He further added, “In future I aim to install all the bike functions in the app so that the bike can be operated by the mobile app. I also wish to research on ways to reduce the use of fuels in the bikes.”
The app has the ability to control the ignition system of the bike with a single click on the phone to start and switch off the bike. It also uses GPS system to trace the vehicle in case of theft.
“In case the bike keys are misplaced we can switch on and off the bike with the help of mobile. In case of theft we can switch off the bike and trace it through the phone. Sashikant’s work has brought laurels for our village,” said Kamalkant Ojha, a local resident.
Many who have used the unique app programmed by Sashikant have urged the government to provide him government support so that the youngster can further work on the app and upgrade it.
Meanwhile, Ramesh Chandra Bhanj, Vice Chairman of Bari Block has said he will ensure to take the matter to government so that Sashikant can be provided adequate help to work on the development of the software.
“We are proud of Sashikant and on behalf of Bari Panchayat Samiti I congratulate him. We will assure to take necessary steps that are required to help him to work more on the application,” he added.
“A woman in trouble can send a message about her problems by pressing a button on the device which has the ‘Notifica’ app installed on it. Subsequently, the mobile will send the message as well as GPS location of the woman to family members or friend or police,” said Aditya, who is studying Class XI in California in the United States.
He further stated, “I had planned to invent this device and app for the safety of Indian women after coming across sexual assault cases from the internet.”
First of all, a user of the ‘Notifica’ has to install the mobile app on her phone and then store the mobile numbers in the app to whom she wants to send the distress message. After pressing the button of the device, a message along with GPS location will be sent instantly to the concerned person.
Aditya has plans to launch the ‘Notifica’ app in 2016.
"This development ultimately means a much wider reach of devices that can access the growing service. Google Duo has, up to now, only been available in the form of an app from the Google Play Store or the iOS App Store, and on its Smart Display platform," the report said quoting a source familiar with the information.
The web version of Google Duo would also work in the Google Chrome browser as well as other rival browsers like Mozilla Firefox and Apple Safari.
"It's unclear as of now how much of the current functionality from the mobile version of Duo will be available on the web at launch, but it's likely to, at the very least, include fundamental Duo features such as 'knock knock' and the ability to leave video messages," the report added.
The Internet giant has been introducing new features to the popular video chat app from time to time with the latest being group calling, which is something Apple's FaceTime now supports for up to 32 users at once.
Google Duo's group calling tool would only support up to seven people at a time.
Users need to first create a group with the contacts they wish to video chat with on the platform and then they can start a call with all at the same time.

Although mobile apps are rapidly becoming a popular option to shop online these days, the phenomenon of shopping cart abandonment -- customers leave without completing the transaction -- is much higher than for desktop-based online shopping, the researchers said.
The share of e-commerce traffic from mobile devices increased to 46 per cent in 2016, however, only 27 per cent of purchases were finalised.
It is because consumers are often unable to see the full picture on a mobile app or that they could be missing out on special offers or overlooking hidden costs.
"The smaller screen size and uncertainty about missing important details about the purchase make you much more ambivalent about completing the transaction than when you are looking at a big screen,"Asaid Nikolaos Korfiatis, professor at the University of East Anglia in Norwich, UK.
In addition, concerns related to privacy and security issues on the mobile phones also motivates people to put items into their shopping baskets but then quit without paying.
This makes it challenging for the online retailers, who invest heavily in mobile shopping, but are unable to find successful sales.
"Mobile shopping is supposed to make the process easier, and yet concerns about making the right choice, or about whether the site is secure enough leads to an 'emotional ambivalence' about the transaction - and that mean customers are much more likely to simply abandon their shopping carts without completing a purchase," Korfiatis added.
For the study, published in the Journal of Business Research, the researchers studied online shopping data from random consumers.
"Customers are becoming more and more demanding and, with mobile shopping in particular, they don't forgive failures so offering a streamlined, integrated service is really important." the researcher added.

This application has been developed by the two Assistant Secretaries (Anunaya Jha and B. Susheela) in the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD).
"This mobile application is bound to empower the 'Divyangjans' by providing easier and convenient access of information to them as they can now understand all details pertaining to the schemes, scholarships, statutes, institutional support systems and other relevant and crucial information at the click of a button," said Gehlot after the launch.
The mobile application 'Divyang Sarathi' is compliant with the principles of UNCRPD for Universal Access and the provisions of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016.
The app would have a wide outreach as it has been developed bilingually and the information is available in Hindi as well as English.

The "Deewangi deewangi" hitmaker released the application in collaboration with New York-based tech firm escapeX.
"At this point in life, I want to have fun, experiment with my music and try different things. To get direct feedback from my audience is why I decided to give in to this idea of an app," Shaan told IANS over an email.
Shaan, 44, began his musical journey at a very young age. After doing some jingles, he burst on to the pop scene with his sister Sagarika in the 1990s. He made a place for himself in the music industry with hits like "Jab se tere naina" and "Chand sifarish".
The app will enable fans to access Shaan's social media handles and connect with him through the in-app social feed. It will also enable fans to reach out to Shaan and showcase their talent.

SHAREit's user base in India is greater than 70 per cent of the country's total internet users.
"When SHAREit entered India, it created an extreme near field transmission experience for local consumers who had been disappointed in the lack of internet infrastructure and the slow internet speeds," the company said in a statement.
SHAREit has featured on Google Play's homepage over 700 times.
Using 'Share Zone', users can transfer resources, add videos, music, apps and also check resource updates of friends in real time.

Hyderabad-based startup Trupik Virtualisation has developed this app, where one can get to virtually drape clothes on a 3D replica of himself.
By feeding the body specifications, the customer can literally experience how the garment looks on him.
The company claims that unlike other e-commerce sites, it does not just super-impose the photo of the garment over the person's photo and show it on the mobile.
Currently available only in twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad, the free app service will be expanded to Bengaluru next month.
Providing garment shopping with trial-room and in-store experience on mobiles, it currently serves only men and the company plans to soon offer the services for women.
Since the launch in October last year, the free app which uses 3-dimensional body-mapping has registered over 25,000 people.
Claiming to be offered for the first time anywhere in the world, Trupik has branded the personal assistance technology as SoFia, which stands as an acronym for "So Fashion I am".
"This is the closest to being real experience sitting where you are while choosing your favourite garment from your favourite brand and the nearest store," Sridhar Tirumala, co-founder and CEO of Trupik, told IANS.
After downloading the Trupik app, one has to feed the details like size, skin tone, choice of stores/brands. It takes millimetre-by-millimetre measures and creates a 3D replica of the person.
To get a more precise body measurement, one can visit any of the 10 brand stores that have 3D kiosks and get body scanned and then sit back at home and shop.
Trupik has partnered with 16 brands like Raymond's Allen Solly, Wills Lifestyle, Indian Terrain, People, Van Heusen, Peter England, Laven and plans to add more in coming days.
Established in 2013 in the Silicon Valley, Trupik Inc. by Hyderabad-based techies Sridhar Tirumala, Aravind Inupudi and Vikranth Katpally relocated to Hyderabad in 2015.
Trupik is aiming to capture more premium brands and wants to expand from 45 stores in the twin cities to 2,500 stores across India.
It plans to expand to Bengaluru next month and to Mumbai in May. It will have tie-up with more brands in tier-II cities in June.
They are accepting payment through mobile and online payment services to ease the problems of common people and keep their businesses going.
Take the case of Raju, who runs a tea shop in the Unit-II area of the capital city. He is not bothered by the demonetisation as he has set up a private 'e-wallet' on the popular payment platform Paytm.
"I was worried after the central government announced demonetisation of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes that led to cash crunch of small notes. Then, I installed a Paytm mobile app on my phone and asked my customers to pay through my mobile wallet," said Raju.
The street vendors and grocery shops are also accepting money from the customers through e-wallets.
"Even though the business has suffered following the demonetisation, we are receiving money through e-wallets. It has been a great help to us at the time of cash crunch," said Tapas Panda, a shop owner in Niladri Vihar area of Bhubaneswar.
Taking advantage of the cash crunch, the mobile wallet companies are visiting the shops and persuading them to install their apps for better money transactions.
Meanwhile, the city people are facing a new problem. With ATMs and banks now giving away new Rs 2,000 notes, people are witnessing a clamour for change as the banks are dispensing limited number of fresh Rs 500 notes.
"I purchased grocery items of Rs 450 from a shopkeeper and handed him a Rs 2,000 note. But he refused to give back the balance change, saying he has limited Rs 100 notes. He insisted that I spend over Rs 800 to get smaller denomination notes," said Ranjan Sahu, a resident.
The Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT) in association with Bhubaneswar Smart City Limited (BSCL), has brought in the Mo Cycle system, to reduce traffic congestion, enhance space efficiency, and improve air quality in the city, an official said.About 2000 MO CYCLES will be operated by three leading vendors, Hero-Hexi, Yaana, and Yulu, at about 400 plus Mo Cycle stations around the city.
Riders can take the Mo Cycle from any location, and drop off at any destination of their choice. The operators will coordinate to ensure the redistribution, and availability of Mo Cycle, at locations with high demand, at any given time, it said.
Unlike rentals under the PBS system, Mo Cycles, stored in a closely spaced network of stations, will be made available to riders for short-term, shared use. This new system would encourage use of same cycle by multiple riders every day.
Mo Cycle can be accessed by downloading the Mo Cycle App and registering with one of the three operators for a nominal monthly subscription.
The rider can locate the nearest MO CYCLE station and unlock the bike through QR code scan. After reaching the destination, the rider has to end the ride on App, manually lock and park the Mo Cycle, at any station for pick up by the subsequent rider.

The highlight of this service is that the first 30 minutes of the ride is free. The system will soon be linked with Odyssey Card, for easy payment.
CRUT in association with Bhubaneswar Smart City Limited (BSCL), is also ensuring that technology interventions like GPS, cashless transactions through mobile app, and smart locks are integral part of the this system.
The intent is to make Mo Cycle PBS system smart, safe, GPS for easy tracking and affordable, thus attracting more ridership, officials said.
The direction was given by Chief Secretary A P Padhi while reviewing progress of the projects at a high level meeting here attended by Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Smart City Mission, R Vineel Krishna.
Padhi advised the Mission to develop a GPS-based utility services integrated mobile app for people and appropriate waste management systems.
Projects like automated traffic signalling, railway multi-modal hub phase-I, Bhubaneswar One (common GIS Platform), Shantinagar Awas Yojana and Satyanagar Institutional Core area development were put on first track.
It was decided that the number of automated traffic signals would be enhanced to 64 from the present 24, an official release said.
The project has been estimated at Rs 10 crore and bid document was ready. It has been targeted to develop the system within nine months, Krishna said.
The Common Integrated GIS platform project would have online information about basic data of the city containing properties, land use, master plan, monuments, parking, educational institutions, health institutions, routes, bus services, online routes of tax payment and others.
Krishna said the phase-I of the project has been estimated at Rs three crore and nearing completion. The other first tracked project was Railway Multi Modal Hub under phase-I near the railway station.
This project includes railway terminal building, bus terminal, underground parking and area development. Estimated cost of the project is around Rs 340 crore, Krishna told reporters after the meeting.
The Satyanagar Institutional Core Redevelopment (ICR) project has been envisaged over an area of 40 acres by the Smart City Mission. The project would be developed over the area into an institutional space for promotion of commerce, business and education hub.
The joint survey of BMC (Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation) and GA (General Administration) department has been completed for the ICR.
Shantinagar Awas Yojana for redevelopment of slum areas has also been taken up and joint survey of BMC and GA department was on, the official said adding other projects reviewed in the meeting included Bhubaneswar Urban Knowledge Centre, 'I am Bhubaneswar' and Street Vendor Improvement Programme.
Matters relating to maintenance of funds and accounts, recruitment and deputation of officers, engagement of programme management consultants and others were also resolved in the meeting.
The researchers have developed the app to fill the time gap we spend waiting for a friend or co-worker to respond while we are chatting on GChat.
WaitChatter, a Chrome extension for GChat, generates interactive foreign language vocabulary exercises, so you can make the most of your time as a conversation partner is typing out a response.
Carrie Cai, a PhD student at MIT's Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Lab, discovered that the average person spends up to 15 minutes a day waiting for replies, in other words about an hour and a half a week.
"But what if you could do something constructive with those moments like, say, learn a language? That's precisely what the new app provides," Cai said in MIT Technology Review.
And what makes the system effective is that it detects when you are waiting for an instant message.
"This integrated approach, which we call 'wait-learning', is far less likely to be perceived as time consuming or intrusive compared to using a separate learning app," Cai said.
Another key differentiator is that WaitChatter is embedded right within the chatbox.
With most other micro-learning apps, like Duolingo, users may feel as if they have to make a significant extra effort or set aside time to study up.
With WaitChatter, they don't have to close a window or even switch apps, since it's incorporated into the programme they are already using.
WaitChatter has been tested in two languages: French and Spanish.
In a two-week pilot study, WaitChatter users learned an average of four words per day. The system pulls words from both a built-in list and from the user's ongoing chat conversations.
For example, people discussing their pets might be quizzed on terms about animals, while those chatting about an upcoming Starbucks date will learn words for "coffee" and "tea".
Noom Health will be distributed to at-risk patients by CityMD Urgent Care, which operates 40 clinics in the greater New York City area, the New York Post reported.
"A lot of these patients are like walking time bombs. They're walking around with pre-diabetes or diabetes and they don't even know it," David Shih, CityMD's chief medical officer, was quoted as saying by the Post.
It will organise a 16-week diabetes education programme developed by the US Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). But instead of attending classes, users will track their progress with their smartphones.
In addition to its educational software, Noom provides users with health coaches who will answer questions and let them know when they could use some exercise -- and when to lay off the ice cream.
As such, Noom's app is an alternative to the CDC's traditional in-person classes, in which attendees typically keep pen-and-paper journals for their diet and exercise.
"It's one thing to know that you have to make lifestyle changes to improve your health, it's another thing to actually do it," Noom CEO Saeju Jeong was quoted as saying.
"Having the guidance and motivation right in your pocket makes it easier than ever to follow through," he added.
"Flipkart has been persistently looking to improve and expand its mobile app capabilities to cater to the shifting preferences on its user base," the company said in a statement.
After the completion of the acquisition, Appiterate's mobile marketing automation platform will be integrated into Flipkart's mobile app.
Talking over the acquisition, senior director of corporate development at Flipkart, Nishant Verman said: "In a short span of 1.5 years, Appiterate has carved out a niche in the industry as being one of the most disruptive companies in its space. We are confident that their innovative platform and tech team will bring deep mobile capabilities to the table which is a key focus area for Flipkart".
Appiterate started as an A/B testing product for native mobile apps which later on expanded into a full-fledged mobile marketing automation platform, based on huge market demand.
The company, in the past, has helped leading e-commerce companies combine the power of mobile apps and big data to allow them to do one-on-one targeting of their users though push notifications and in-app messages.
Available on Android at present, SAFAR-AIR will provide current and one to three day forecast based on a colour-coded system indicating air quality, where red would mean "very poor".
Developed by scientists at the Pune-based Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology that had earlier designed country's first air quality forecasting scheme - system for air quality forecasting and research (SAFAR) - this mobile app can be downloaded free of charge at http://safar.tropmet.res.in. It is also available on Google Play Store and on the ministry's website.
The users in Delhi and Pune, the first two cities to get the service, would now be able to plan their personal outdoor activities based on the advisories on the app.
SAFAR-Mumbai will be launched in April 2015.
Releasing the app, Earth Sciences Secretary Shailesh Nayak said SAFAR-AIR was an effort by the government to generate consciousness among people and orient them towards a sustainable lifestyle low on carbon emissions.
He said the initiative was also expected to help policy makers adopt city-level practical measures for clean air, especially in Delhi.
Delhi would have air quality information and advisories available for five locations - west, east, north, south, and central while it would be four - in Pune.
With the help of the app, students and parents will be able to get answers to their questions on education, health and social topics. This mobile counselling app of the CBSE is named 'dost for life'.
According to the CBSE, the app is to be used to improve students' psycho-social wellness. From Monday, this app will be fully available for students.
Free live counselling sessions will be conducted for the students through this app, the CBSE said. At least 83 volunteers have already joined for live counselling. Of these, 66 are in India and the rest 17 are in Saudi Arabia, UAE, Nepal, Oman, Kuwait, Japan and the USA. The counselling sessions will be held three days a week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9.30 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. and 1.30 p.m. to 5.30 p.m.
Materials related to education, society, emotion and behaviour will be made available in the app. The anxiety related to the examinations, Internet addiction disorder, depression and special learning disability will be removed through the help of this app.
The app contains many features, including counselling sessions, expert advice, guidance on what to do after class XII, mental health tips, and an audio-video protocol related to Covid-19.
Apart from this, CBSE Board will give another chance to the students of class X to pass the exams. Students of 10th will pass on the basis of internal assessment and half-yearly examination. Despite this, if a student fails, he/she will be given another chance to take compartmental examination.
This was 8.2 times more new installs than TikTok saw in the country in Q1 of last year, according to the analysis by mobile app intelligence firm Sensor Tower.
Owned by Chinese tech company ByteDance, TikTok became controversial in the past for illegally collecting personal information from children in the US and in other places for inappropriate content.
Hearing a petition filed by an advocate, the Madras High Court earlier this month asked the Centre to ban the app, saying it "encourages pornography" and is spoiling the future of youths and the minds of children.
TikTok on Friday said as part of its commitment towards providing a positive in-app environment for its users in India, it had removed over six million videos that have violated its "Community Guidelines".
The short-video sharing app has also introduced its age-gate feature for its new users, which will only allow users aged 13 years and above to login and create an account on TikTok .
In terms of its reach, TikTok has just had its best first quarter ever, adding an estimated 188 million during Q1, according to data analysis by Sensor Tower.
"This marked a year-over-year increase of 70 per cent from Q1 2018, when 110 million users installed ByteDance's hit app for the first time," Sensor Tower founder Oliver Yeh wrote in a blog post this week.
"This growth was largely driven by India, where an estimated 88.6 million new users flocked to the app last quarter," Yeh added.
Of these new installs in India, Google Play accounted for nearly 99 per cent of downloads.
TikTok was the third most installed app globally during Q1 2019 across the App Store and Google Play, ranking behind only Facebook's WhatsApp and Messenger at No. 1 and No. 2, respectively.
"To date, Sensor Tower data shows that TikTok has been installed by more than 1.1 billion App Store and Google Play users globally, and has grossed $80 million from in-app purchases," Yeh said.
According to cybersecurity firm GIS Consulting, the app called "Call India-IntCall" does not require user permission to register; they can enter any 10-digit mobile number registered themselves without entering any OTP or verification code.
"Criminals can spoof your phone number to call your family members, friends, colleagues, employees, employers or bankers to extort money or get critical information pertaining to you," Naveen Dham CEO and Founder of GIS Consulting said in a statement.
These type of applications should have been thoroughly checked by Google before being allowed on the Play Store, the firm added.
Their project, MirrorHR -- Epilepsy Research Kit for Kids, was named for this year's grand prize at the company's annual global hackathon, produced by The Garage.
The Garage is a Microsoft programme that encourages employees to work on projects they are passionate about. D'Angelo used MirrorHR on his 8-year-old son, Mario, who has suffered potentially life-threatening seizures since he was 3.
Mario's parents are using the new system -- a mobile app connected to a wearable device that sends alerts when anomalous activity might indicate a seizure -- so they no longer have to monitor their son.
It helps allay the biggest fear that a seizure could lead to sudden unexpected death in epilepsy (SUDE).
For the findings, the research team worked together over about three months to develop the end-to-end, scalable proof of concept that is currently being tested by Mario.
If a seizure is about to happen, parents can catch it at the onset and take immediate actions, such as preventing falls or other trauma and making sure the child does not swallow vomit.
It means there is less likelihood the parents will have to rush to the emergency room or miss the seizure entirely.
The biometric data and daily video logs are stored in a Microsoft Azure-powered FHIR Server.
Machine learning and data visualisation techniques are applied to this information to offer parents and doctors easy-to-read visuals and insights using Power business intelligence (BI) tools.
The mammoth nationwide exercise will be carried out in 16 languages and at a cost of Rs 12,000 crore, he said after laying the foundation stone of a new building of the Registrar General of India and Census Commissioner here.
The census will have its reference date as March 1, 2021, but for snow-bound Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand it will be October 1, 2020, Shah said.
"Census data will be collected through a mobile app. This is for the first time that the mobile app will be used for the census exercise. India will be moving from the pen and paper census to digital data, which will be a big revolution in the country's census exercise," he said.
Referring to the 2021 census, he said the data will help in future planning of the country, especially for development initiatives and welfare schemes, and it will be a 'Jan Bhagidari' (people's participation) exercise.
"India's total 130 crore population should be informed about its benefits. How, the census data could be used for future planning, development initiatives and welfare schemes. The utilisation of census data is multi-dimensional and will be a significant contribution to the nation's progress," Shah said.
The home minister also said the census will help in demarcating boundaries of municipal wards, assemblies and Lok Sabha constituencies.
He appealed to census officials to carry out the exercise sincerely as this is an opportunity for them to do 'Punya' (holy deed), which will help in nation building.
Earlier the government used to do welfare schemes on a piecemeal basis and no comprehensive planning was done by previous governments, Shah said.
"The whole approach was changed when Narendra Modi became prime minister in 2014. The approach has been changed completely, the thinking has been changed. Goals have been set to completely eradicate the problems," he said.
The home minister said on the basis of the 2011 Census, the Modi government had planned 22 welfare schemes related to electricity connection to every home, gas connections, construction of roads, houses for the poor, toilets, bank accounts and opening of bank branches among others.
He cited the example of the government's flagship 'Ujjwala' scheme of providing free LPG connection to poor families, saying it has been successful as the scheme was prepared on the basis of the 2011 census data.
"By 2022, there will not be a family which will not have gas connection," he said.
Shah also said the 2011 census reflected the poor sex ratio of male and female in some states. That is why the programme of 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao' was launched, he said.
"Under this scheme, the Haryana government has done so much work in the last five years that the state's sex ratio is now among the best in the country," he said.
The home minister said India's population is 17.5 per cent of the world's total population while the geographical area is just 2.4 per cent of the total geographical area of the world.
"So, naturally, India has limited natural resources in comparison to the population. Therefore, to fill up this gap of inequality, we will have to work hard," he said.
Shah also said the data for the National Population Register (NPR), a list of usual residents of the country, will also be collected along with the census exercise.
Officials said the NPR could be the basis for a pan-India version of Assam's National Register of Citizens (NRC).
Biofeedback is the process of gaining greater awareness of many physiological functions of one's own body, commercially by using electronic or other instruments, and with a goal of being able to manipulate the body's systems at will.
The ‘PanicMechanic' app can work at any time and in any location and is meant to be used as a supplement to professional clinical care.
‘PanicMechanic' uses the camera on a cell phone to measure the body's panic response, using an approach similar to photoplethysmography.
"Activating the app, then holding your finger against the flash can give you an objective measure of your reaction to stress," said Ryan McGinnis, Assistant Professor at the University of Vermont in the US, and a co-developer of the app.
"Panic takes hold and you feel like you're out of control of your body. By showing someone their patterns of physiological arousal, it helps them gain a sense of mastery over their panic response," said one of the app's developers, Ellen McGinnis.

The app also works because it gives the panic sufferer something to do during an episode.
In addition to displaying an objective measure of the body's panic response, the app also asks, in a sequence of screens, "how much sleep and exercise you've had, what you ate, what your anxiety level is, and if you've consumed drugs or alcohol," she said.
The screens both occupy the panic sufferer and serve a useful purpose, providing data on behaviours and triggers associated with the attack that could be avoided in the future.
The app also predicts how long the panic attack will last, based on past attacks.
That's key, Ellen McGinnis said, because one of the most frightening aspects of a panic attack is that "it seems like it will never end."
PanicMechanic employs machine learning to make sure the data gathered by the user on the heart is accurate.

"Our beta testing showed that people can't always put their finger on their cell phone in free-living settings and get an accurate reading of their heart rate," Ryan McGinnis said.

Girish Vaisyaraj, a student of Electronics and Telecommunications at National Institute of Technology, Rourkela took 22 days to develop the mobile app and the idea came to his mind after knowing about the difficulties that people faced with no access to essentials amid the COVID-19 lockdown in his hometown Koraput.
In an exclusive interview to Odishatv.in, Girish, who does research work in the field of artificial intelligence spoke on how he built the e-commerce App "GoGrocy" to provide essentials to people in small towns.
"The idea came to my mind a few days before lockdown was declared by our prime minister. In such times, the worst sufferers are people staying in small towns like Jeypore and Sunabeda where there is either no access or limited access to essentials. So, I decided to start providing home delivery service of essentials by initially contacting some local vendors who agreed to collaborate," said Girish.
While it took 22 days to develop the app, he started to deliver goods by taking orders on WhatsApp from March 26. Girish himself started delivering goods to people and later appointed one person who assisted him.
"Many local residents in Jeypore started to place orders through WhatsApp. There are elderly people whose children are staying in foreign countries. Such people need assistance, so, I have added medicines apart from groceries in the item list that can be ordered through the app. However, for medicines, prescription is mandatory," said Girish.
Girish said, in future he is planning to collaborate with companies so that more products can be added to the list of deliverables so that the app becomes one-stop destination to get all products.
"The core idea is to provide digital space in semi-urban and rural areas and generate employment opportunity for the youth especially in places like Koraput," added Girish.
Though, there were challenges initially in getting permission to go to places for delivery, now things have become much better, he says.
Girish is currently working on a few other projects related to tackling COVID-19 and on artificial intelligence which may turn out to be groundbreaking.
Recently, Bhrugu Baxipatra, State general secretary of Odisha BJP took to Twitter and praised Girish for his achievement.

Speaking about the app, a user Binay Kumar Pattnaik said, "It's a great initiative. The app is friendly and easy to navigate. Please support these young guys and I suggest you guys please use this app and stay home stay safe in this lockdown."
The move of the Indian Railways has been taken to decongest ticket booking counters and to ensure smooth compliance of social distancing norms under the COVID-19 protocols.
In a statement, the Railways stated that unreserved train services are being introduced in a phased wise manner.

“In order to avoid any inconvenience to passengers in booking unreserved tickets and to ensure norms of social distancing at booking counters while purchasing the tickets, It has been decided that in addition to UTS ON MOBILE App facility available on suburban sections, this facility may also be reintroduced on non-suburban sections of zonal Railways,” the statement added.
The Zonal Railways have also been instructed that whenever unreserved train services are introduced, the concerned zonal Railway authorities may accordingly enable UTS ON MOBILE app for issuing unreserved tickets.
On Wednesday, the Indian Railways clarified that it was levying slightly higher fares for short distance passenger trains only to discourage people from travel which is not most necessary.
In a statement, a Railway Ministry spokesperson said: “Recently, there have been some reports in the section of media about higher price being charged from those travelling in passenger trains over small distances.”

The App will help hoteliers share crucial information including guests list with the cops. The computerised system will also help the Twin City police maintain the data on a real-time basis which will be helpful in tracking down criminals.
At present, the hoteliers manually share the data including guest lists, their check-in and check-out details with local police stations. The information about foreign tourists is also being shared with police.
All this is being done as per the provisions of the Sarai Act, said Bhubaneswar DCP Umashankar Dash.
Dash further said that in several instances it was observed that the criminals used hotels and escaped after committing crimes.
“It is for the last few months that we have been trying to come up with an integrated system or App for this. The new facility has been developed but it's still in testing stage. Once all the facilities are ready, we will name the App,” said Dash.
Dash said that all the information shared by hotels will be treated ‘confidential’ and the privacy of guests will be protected.
