In a case of gross medical negligence, medication of two patients got interchanged at Bhima Bhoi Medical College and Hospital in Bolangir on Monday (Nov 1). As per reports, the two patients were admitted to the medicine ward on beds 48 and 49 in the hospital for kidney ailment and stomach ache respectively.

The tragedy was that though the couple waited indefinitely for the post-mortem, neither did the medical staff nor the policeman bothered to get the autopsy done even after 28 hours

In a tragic incident, a woman and her newborn died at a government hospital in Odisha. As per family members, the woman died of medical negligence at Jharsuguda District Headquarters hospital on Tuesday (September 21).

Family members of the deceased raised serious allegations against the hospital authorities and claimed that they intentionally kept the dead body in the hospital and made them pay a huge amount of money for different tests and medicines in a motive to swindle money.

Family members of Khirod Chandra Sahu, who had been shot on his leg, alleged that SCB Medical College and Hospital authorities have not allotted a bed to him and refusing to provide necessary treatment. 

A youth who attempted suicide by slitting his wrist and consuming poison in front of the Odisha Assembly over alleged denial of treatment under the Biju Krushak Kalyan Yojana (BKKY), died on Wednesday.
