Targeting Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik over the Mamita Meher murder case, Union Education Minister and senior BJP leader, Dharmendra Pradhan on Friday said that Patnaik is having double standards over his proclaimed principles.

BJP’s State general secretary Lekhashree Samantasinghar alleged that after destroying all evidence with the help of police, now the Minister is claiming that he is innocent.

Last month, the outfit had also filed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) seeking a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and Rs 50 lakh compensation for the next of the kin of the deceased lady teacher. However, the organization said that the PIL is yet to be listed for hearing though three memos have been made so far. During the period, several startling facts relating to the murder case have also come out, said president, Bharatiya Bikash Parishad, Surendra Panigrahi.

Members of the Chhatra Congress took out a rally to gherao the camp office of the State Director General of Police (DGP) and Naveen Niwas, the official residence of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. However, the activists were stopped by the police midway near Forest Park. 

Health Minister Naba Kishore Das and Labour Minister Susanta Singh faced black flag protest near OMP square while they were returning to the circuit house after attending a programme of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.

Suresh Pujari had lashed out at Patnaik and the Odisha Government after several workers of the saffron party were arrested while staging protests over the sensational murder case of Kalahandi lady teacher Mamita Meher.
