The Election Commission of India (ECI) issued a press note on Monday announcing the dates for by-polls in Brajarajnagar Assembly Constituency lying vacant since December 2021 after the death of MLA Kishore Mohanty.

Given the party’s strategy, Kishore Mohanty’s wife Alaka may get the ticket. However, it has also been discussed that Health Minister Naba Das’s daughter Deepali Das is aspiring to get the ticket. 

The Brajarajnagar Assembly constituency would go for by-election in the next six months. 

The mortal remains of former Speaker of Odisha Legislative Assembly and Brajarajnagar MLA Kishore Mohanty were consigned to flames.
