Following the intervention of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National Vice President, Baijayant 'Jay' Panda, labourers stranded in Gabon in Central Africa are safely returning to their homes.
As per reports, the OTDC built the panthashala at a cost of Rs 22 lakh claiming to provide lodging facilities to the tourists coming to Kendrapara town. But since its construction, it could not be made operational till now.
As many as 21 labourers including 14 from Odisha, four from Bihar and one each from Rajasthan, West Bengal and Andhra Pradesh had gone to Gabon through an agent, with the hope of earning a livelihood.
