They continuously surged into the opposition D and were rewarded with a penalty corner in the 57th minute. Agustin Amoroso dully converted it with a brilliant drift only to reduce the difference of goals.
Egypt players tried their best to dominate proceedings and press for the equaliser in the last quarter, but Chile’s defense rose to the occasion and prevented all the scoring opportunities.
For India, vice-captain Sanjay also scored a hattrick, converting penalty corners in 15th, 57th, and 58th minutes after Uttam Singh had opened the scoring for the hosts in the 10th minute with a superb goal.
