Supreme Court Says No To Rath Yatra Across Odisha Except Puri, Rejects All Petitions

The Supreme Court (SC) on Tuesday (July 6) rejected all petitions seeking permission to hold Rath Yatra in other Jagannath temples of Odisha except the Puri Srimandir. Puri Jagannath Temple To Remain Closed, Snana Purnima On June 24 Sans Devotees: SJTA Chief

This year too, Deba Snana Purnima of the Holy Trinity will be held without devotees at Puri. In view of the grim pandemic situation and extension of curbs by the state government, Deba Snana Purnima, the ritualistic bathing ceremony of Lord Jagannath and His siblings on June 24 will be observed sans devotees like last year. SJTA (Shree Jagannath Temple Administration) chief Krishan Kumar informed that Puri Srimandir will remain out of bounds for devotees till July 25th and a decision regarding allowing devotees for darshan would be taken after Rath Yatra.
