The examination will be held on behalf of the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the application process for the December session will begin from September 9 and continue till October 9.
All the interested candidates can apply on the official website — http://www.nta.ac.in or ntanet.nic.in. The admit cards will be available on the website from November 9 and the result will be announced on December 31, 2019.
Earlier in March 2019, over 9.56 lakh candidates appeared for the UGC NET, the eligibility test held for government teachers post. As per reports, every year, over 10 lakh candidates appear for the NET.
The NTA has also released the schedule for the session to be held in June next year. The application process will begin from March 16 and continue till April 16, 2020. The admit cards will be released on May 15 and the UGC NET will be held from June 15 to June 20. Candidates can get the result from July 5.
The CSIR-UGC NET exam schedule has also been published on the official website of nta.ac.in
As many as 84 subjects are included in the UGC NET tests and is conducted in 91 selected cities. The test determines the eligibility for either the Assistant Professor post or Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) or both. The examination is conducted twice a year.
While the preliminary examination will be conducted on January 5, 2019 to fill as many as 500 engineering positions in various departments of the central government, admit cards will be available in December.
Candidates need to pay a fee of Rs 200 while female, SC, ST and PH category aspirants exempted from payment of fee.

--There will be two parts – Part I and II
-- Read the instructions carefully and click on yes towards the bottom of the page
-- Fill the required details like age, qualification etc
-- In part II registration, pay the exam fees, select examination centre, upload photograph and signature.
-- Agree with the declaration made by you.
What is the eligibility criteria?
Education qualification: Candidates should have a degree in engineering from a recognised university.
Age: Aspirants must be at least 21 years of age and must not have attained the age of 30 years on August 1, 2019.
Selection process: Those who qualify the preliminary round will have to write the main examination, dates of which will be announced later. After clearing the main examination, candidates will be called for the interview round.
